Willmar Welcoming Week Festival

Dear Community Partners

We are excited to announce that the City of Willmar, Minnesota our community partners and sponsors will host the 7th annual Willmar Welcoming Week Festival on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2-5 PM downtown Willmar. This is a free event, and ALL are welcome!

It's a joyful day of food, music, entertainment, and family fun
part of the larger Welcoming Week movement, a global campaign that celebrates our differences and spotlights what we all have in common.

This year, we're creating even more opportunities to connect over free food samples from around the world, activities for kids and families, cultural performances, and our new Global Market. It's a wonderful opportunity to share our stories, build understanding, and shape what's next — together.

Want to be part of the festival?
Here are ways to participate:

Community Resource/Exhibitor Fair
Share information about your organization, services, or opportunities. This is a great way to connect directly with hundreds of neighbors and families.

Global Market
Sell or showcase products, crafts, art that represent cultures from around the world. Perfect for local businesses, artisans, and all type of entrepreneurs.

Community Pick-Up Choir
No audition needed — just a love of singing! Join neighbors from across Willmar to learn a few songs together and perform at the festival. All voices and languages welcome.

Volunteers
We will have plenty of opportunities to volunteer the day of the event before, during, and after.
