If you don’t think that social media matters for your business, think again! During my last visit to Lancaster I searched as I always do in new cities, on social media, to find the best local restaurants. We discovered Cafe 301, LLC. They had tons of beautiful photos of the food, I easily found their menu (which included vegetarian options), their hours were listed, they highlighted the fact that they were a woman-owned business, and had glowing customer reviews. We went for lunch and our experience matched the story on their social - our meal was SO delicious and the staff were kind and personable. Of course, when we were back in town this week we had to stop by again for lunch! The owner stopped by and chatted with us before we left and thanked us for coming by.
Can you run an amazing business, or in this case restaurant, without posting to social media or even having social media at all? Sure. But you’re missing out on a large customer base and it only continues to grow. More people than ever (especially Millennials/Gen Z) are utilizing social media to decide where they will spend money before ever stepping foot inside a business. They want to know that businesses are keeping up with the times and align with their values.
Take the time for social. Tell your story. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but put in the effort and you’ll see more people stopping by/supporting you because they liked what they saw.
Travel Tip: Next time you’re in the Lancaster area grab a coffee and avo toast, the French toast, salad, really anything from Cafe 301’s menu and you won’t be disappointed! ☕️ 🥑
