🌿 DAY 70 — 200 GAL SEMI-RAISED BED

These girls are officially making the transition into the next phase. With flowers well on their way and stacking nicely!, we should be nearly finished with any major training and defoliation.

At this point, the goal is to let the plants settle in and put their energy where we want it — healthy, productive flowers. 🌸

Now the focus shifts toward maintaining a healthy environment, good airflow, consistent moisture, and keeping that living soil thriving.

And this is the time of year when I get VIGILANT about pest pressure. 👀

​🐛 Caterpillars are a nightmare once those flowers start stacking.

🪲 Aphids, thrips, and mites are right behind them.

🐜 Basically, if it’s looking to make a meal out of months of hard work, I'm on high alert.

​Inspect those plants regularly. Check underneath the leaves, around new growth, and deep inside those developing flowers. Catching a problem early is a lot easier than trying to fix an infestation later.

Do you know Limonene ?

🍋🌱 Let’s talk Limonene...

If you’ve ever cracked open a strain and immediately got hit with that sharp lemon, orange, or citrus smell, there’s a good chance Limonene is part of the reason.

Limonene is a terpene found in a bunch of plants
not just cannabis.

You’ll find it in things like:

🍋 Lemon & orange peels
🌿 Mint
🌲 Juniper
🌱 Cannabis
🍊 Grapefruit and other citrus

Some strains known for having a good amount of limonene include Super Lemon Haze, Lemon Haze, and Tangie.

And this is one of the things I think makes plant chemistry so interesting.

That smell you get from a cannabis plant isn't something that only exists in cannabis. The same types of compounds are all around us in the plants, fruits, herbs and trees we interact with every day.

It's also why I don't like looking at a strain based on THC percentage alone. There's a whole lot more going on in that plant. 🌱

Smell the plant. Learn the plant. Understand the plant.

These girls are absolutely stacking up. 💚
Healthy canopy, strong branching, and the marigolds bringing some serious color underneath. At Day 65, she's looking like she's ready to put on some serious weight as she moves deeper into flower.
