🌼🐝 The garden is still buzzing, even this late in the season!

While the outdoor girls are working their way through the home stretch, our companion marigolds are still bringing in some late-season bee traffic. 🌿

Companion planting isn't just about what's happening in the soil. It's also about creating an environment where beneficial insects and pollinators have a reason to visit.

Even as autumn settles into southern Vermont, there's still life and activity all around the garden. Sometimes it's worth taking a step back from the flowers and watching what's happening around them.

🌿 Not where she needs to be just yet, but this GG4 is already dumping resin.

Even the stems and inner calyxes are blanketed in thick trichome heads. When the genetics are right, the frost takes care of itself. Now we let her do her thing and wait for that final swell. ❄️🔥

​Early October in Vermont brings those crisp autumn nights and outdoor purple tones, so keeping a close eye on weather and frost warnings is half the game right now.

​I know what I look for and have the tools and years in the garden to dial in my own harvest window, but I’m strictly curious how everyone else handles it.

​For the growers out there — what’s your primary indicator before calling harvest time?

​Trichome maturity on the calyx wall?

​Pistil recession & calyx swell?

​Full plant fade?

​Or dodging upcoming October frosts and going by strain experience?
