Hometown Wilmington Media announced Friday, Jan. 30, it would discontinue the all-news radio format of Port City Radio. The format signed off at midnight Saturday, Jan. 31. The decision to discontinue the all-news format was in response to the public’s total embrace of Port City Daily, Wilmington's only free online daily newspaper, and a call for even more of the higher quality local news produced by its reporters. With this came the need for more resources to be directed toward Port City Daily. Radio news updates can still be found on sister music stations 93.7/106.3 The Dude and 98.3 The Penguin. As always, we will continue to bring you the free, local news you trust and rely on at www.portcitydaily.com.
