**Parade Cancellation Notice**
After consulting with the National Weather Service and our public safety partner agencies, we have made the decision to cancel today's Summerfest Hometown Proud Parade. Unfortunately, the forecast for lineup & parade time does not look favorable with rain showers expected to continue and pockets of heavier rain possible thru 3pm.
Unfortunately, we are not able to simply push back the start times since many of the resources and logistics needed for the parade are already committed to other activities later in the afternoon. Since our parade is part of our festival, we do not have plans to reschedule for a later date.
We understand that many of our parade participants spend a lot of time, energy and money creating their entries and we greatly appreciate their support and participation. We very much apologize for any inconvenience. When it comes to outdoor events, mother nature holds the cards. Sometimes we have a winning hand, sometimes we don't. We've definitely learned over 44 years that if there's one thing we have no control over, it's the weather.
