Disability Pride Month is celebrated in July to honor the disability community's history, achievements, experiences, and struggles. It originated in the United States in 1990 to commemorate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law on July 26, 1990, and the first Disability Pride Day was held in Boston that same year.
I thought this would be a great time to highlight my Q***r Currents episodes on q***rness and disability. Listen to this fun (and hopefully enlightening) conversation conversation with my UNCW colleague and disability studies scholar, Dr. Julie-Ann Scott-Pollock.
