Hi Island Dogs family! I wanted to take a break from the usual posts to share something a little more personal.
My sweet girl, Koba, has been diagnosed with bilateral cruciate ligament tears and is scheduled for double TPLO surgery (essentially the doggie equivalent of double ACL surgery). This surgery will greatly improve her long-term quality of life and give her the mobility she deserves so she can get back to doing what she loves for many years to come. 🐾
The support this community has shown me—and behind the scenes, Koba—means more than I can put into words. I am forever grateful to do what I love every day and to have such an incredible group of clients and supporters. As we prepare for this next chapter, I wanted to offer something a little special in return. 💝
✨ This Saturday, August 8th, Mr. Dog Dad, Koba, and I will be hosting a small fundraiser from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM in the cul-de-sac off Dron Pl (off Pine Grove Rd., just before the Holly Tree intersection) to help raise funds for Koba’s surgery.
✨ We will have handmade chunky beaded dog necklaces available in XS–XL, with a variety of unique patterns to choose from. Each necklace is $25, and 100% of every dollar earned will go directly toward Koba’s surgery and recovery.
❣️For our current Island Dogs clients, we’ll be offering 10% off every dog necklace purchased as a small thank-you for your continued support!❣️
🎟️ A huge thank you to our friends at Green Paw Collective for generously sponsoring our fundraiser with a $50 donation! Thanks to their kindness, we’ll be raffling off TWO handmade, custom fitted dog necklaces. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20, and every ticket purchased helps raise even more funds for Koba’s surgery.💚🐾
We’ll also have a small selection of plants for sale, including:
🌿 Cebu Blue Pothos (4” pots)
🌿 Golden Pothos (6” pots)
🌿 Aloe (4” & 6” pots)
🌿 A few other plant goodies!
Every plant is propagated, grown, and potted by me in an all-organic, handmade, well-draining potting mix, and each one comes with a drainage plate. Plant prices range from $8–20.
🌭 My boyfriend (aka Dog Dad) will also be firing up some hot dogs, and we’ll have chips and drinks available while supplies last! (And if you bring your dog, we’ll have one for them too 😉🤫)
