Join me for an afternoon of sourdough and leave with a new hobby, a jar of starter you’ll suddenly feel responsible for, and the confidence to bake your own bread at home.

I’ll guide you through the entire process, answer your questions, and make sure you leave with everything you need to begin your sourdough journey.

The next Sourdough for Beginners Workshop opens tonight (August date).

Making bread without a trendy sound - birthday edition.

This loaf is for Taylor’s 4th birthday at the end of the month, so naturally it needed sprinkles.

Thank you for helping me celebrate her this week. So many of you have watched her grow right alongside Shushan Farm, and that means more than you know.

And for anyone wondering what making bread sounds like without music… it’s usually a lot less quiet than this (life with a toddler, am I right? 😅).
Today you can hear the dough, the birds, and of course my dog barking at the end.

5 small changes that completely transform your cinnamon rolls:

I make over 500 cinnamon rolls every week, and these are the 5 tips that make the biggest difference:

1️⃣ Add a bit cornstarch (or a little flour) to your filling.
This helps absorb extra moisture and keeps the filling from leaking out while baking.

2️⃣ Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon in the bottom of the pan. This creates an extra gooey layer that people go crazy for.

3️⃣ Never skip the second proof.
Want soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls? This step is non-negotiable.

4️⃣ Pour heavy cream over the rolls before baking.
The dough absorbs it as it bakes, giving you that rich, bakery-style texture.

5️⃣ Check the internal temperature.
A golden cinnamon roll can still be underbaked in the center. Temperature is the best way to know they’re done. You’re looking for 195-200 f.

The difference between a good cinnamon roll and an unforgettable one is usually in the little details.

What did I miss? What’s the tip / trick you swear by?

This means more to me than someone saying “I love your bread” (which means a WHOLE LOT).
Despite everything that happened with me, the business and the shed, I still believe - We’re all in this (life) together.
No Karen will harden my heart.

PART 2:
The good news: it was bread.
The bad news: that’s about all it had going for it.

Since farmers market season is upon us, please remember, if you see a bread that looks like this – don’t buy it.

PART 1:
Turns out dough doesn’t care how busy you are.

I had some extra starter and decided to do some new flavor testing for the bakery and completely forgot about this dough for about 12 hours. This was taken at 11 PM last night. Let’s bake it anyway!

I’m not perfect and things like this happen all the time. Just bake the bread. worst case- it’s not good. Boo hoo.

Come prep my Sunday Sourdough for Beginners workshop with me.

A lot of thought, planning, and preparation goes into each workshop, and it all starts days before participants even walk through the door. I thought I’d give you a glimpse into what that process looks like.

I’m incredibly grateful that all 4 of my current workshops sold out so quickly. If you missed out and would like to join a future workshop, comment below and I’ll add you to the interest list (locals to MA).

I’ll be opening new dates for August and September, and those on the list will be the first to know.

thank you for supporting your local bread dealer, and giving me the opportunity to teach you something I really love.
