This is from Mr. G: Family, I just got off a three-way call with Dr. Sebi’s son Victor Bowman, and this is serious. Victor is currently being held in the McAllen Immigration Detention Center in Texas, and he’s been there 10 days.
On this call, Victor told me he was beaten, and that one of his African brothers in there was sexually assaulted.
He asked me personally to record this call and bring this situation to the public — so that’s what I’m doing.
Look... I know Victor gets into arguments, he goes back and forth online, he beefs with people — he’s young, and he’s still learning. But whatever disagreements people have with him, this is not the time to hold that against him. Right now, a young Black man is in danger and he needs help.
We couldn’t save his father, the great Dr. Sebi, because he died inside a jail.
We cannot allow his son to face the same fate.
I’m asking anyone with connections - legal help, media contacts, immigration advocates, human rights organizations - to step in immediately.

This man has brought so much joy and perspective to my life and we are 13 years apart. Tjat is really powerful. Give thanks to our mother and your faher for bringing you to us. I really need a whole HBO special to really tell our story. Meanwhile here are some of my favorite moments with him as an adult.
