From the pages of my Journal: A Personal Reflection on the story or Noah

God remembered Noah.
For a year (370-377 days) Noah must have struggled too in the ark. But in the hard times God was there. He remembered.

It is often us who forget but never God. His plan stands through the long waiting, frustration and loneliness. In that season, God will give you some encouragement, the stopping of rain, the settling of the ark in Ararat, the decline in the rocking of the ark, an olive leaf, but the ark will continue to rock, until the flood fully dries up. When the rocking finally stops, the major clean up begins. Think about how overwhelming it must have felt for Noah and his family to stare at the mess they have to clean up after the flood. The interesting thing that Noah did however was “he built an altar to the Lord”(Genesis 8:20). Instead of complaining, Noah worshipped God.

God saved Noah and his family. God’s way of saving us does not equate absence of challenges. Such was the case for Noah and his family. While God saved them from the flood, they had to put on a lot of work before during and after the flood. No matter how difficult that work entails, remember to build an altar to the Lord. Worship and give Him praise.

For Father’s Day, my husband and I treated my in-laws to a 90 min train ride via a very antiquated train in Versailles, KY. It was a slow relaxing ride.
