Friends of the Wilson County Public Library The Friends of the Wilson County Public Library is a public charity organization which promotes the use of the library. Join us in this community adventure!

We sponsor fantastic programs for all ages, from guest authors to visiting raptors. Purpose:
To develop and increase the use of the library and participation in its educational and cultural projects;
To focus attention on library services and needs;
To maintain an association of individuals interested in books and libraries;
To stimulate gifts of books, magazine subscriptions, audiovisuals, endowm

ents, trusts, bequests, and other donations of money, materials, and volunteer time;
To confer with the Board of Trustees of the library on matters relating to the support and welfare of that institution. Status:
The Friends of the Wilson County Public Library has been accorded Section 501(c)(3) status as a nonprofit organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Organization:
The Friends of the Library is governed by a Board of Directors chosen from the membership of the organization for terms of three years. Three consecutive terms (9 years) may be served before retiring from the board. The Board oversees the programs, projects, and financial status of the Friends; appoints committees to provide for the efficient management of the affairs of the organization; and raises funds through contributions, membership dues, endowment gifts, and other legal means.

Friends are pleased to support the Wilson County Public Library NC Reads Book Club in 2025. Multiple copies of each selection were purchased by the Friends for the library patrons to enjoy these book club meetings. Thanks to all of our members and supporters of our book sales who help make this possible!

This is the current list through June and the Wilson County Public Library will be creating events on Facebook and announcing dates in monthly press releases.

May 2025 – "The Girls We Sent Away" by Meagan Church

June 2025 – "Doc Watson: A Life in Music" by Eddie Huffman

Please try to join the next NC Reads Book Club meeting on Saturday, May 3rd. Books are currently available for check out at the Main library on Nash Street in Historic Downtown Wilson. If you miss a meeting, recordings will be available on the library website and re-posted on social media.

Hello, Friends! Book donation drive on Wednesday is CANCELLED.

Wilson may see some snow on Wednesday and we would like everyone to stay safe and warm. If you have a substantial donation that you must be rid of soon, please message us to make future arrangements. We should resume our normal monthly donation drive on Wednesday, 3/19. Thank you for your support!

We are humbled by the overwhelming generosity and kindness of our friends and customers. Today marks the second day of gathering essential supplies for our mountain residents. Your thoughtfulness reflects a shared compassion for all of God's creatures, as evidenced by the substantial donations of pet food and supplies. We extend our sincerest gratitude.
