Eason Horticultural Resources (EHR) announced that it has become employee owned through an ESOP structure as of October 1.

“This transition reinforces EHR’s dedication to preserving its long-standing legacy. This new structure promotes a workplace where mutual success is a shared priority and where employees are empowered to actively contribute to its growth, shaping the future of the company as both colleagues and stakeholders,” the company said in the announcement.

Thursday, October 10 is World Mental Health Day.

Whether it’s the stress that comes with working in agriculture, the isolation of living in remote areas, or the longstanding belief that they just need to power through their depression and challenging times, farmers and agriculture and nursery workers deal with compounding factors that can weigh heavily on their mental health. The Oregon Association of Nurseries is saddened to report that Don Sprague, owner of Garden Gallery Iron Works, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in his home in Woodburn, Oregon, surrounded by family and friends. The family made the announcement of Don’s passing on Friday, June 28.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Saint Luke’s Catholic Church, 417 Harrison St., Woodburn, Oregon. A luncheon in the fellowship hall will follow.
