A changing climate with hotter and drier weather is a challenge for people, but also for lakes, reservoirs and rivers. The Rio Grande river, which runs from Colorado into Mexico, crossing several U.S. states, continues to shrink and to run dry in places where it used to flow.

Most of the water from the river is used to grow crops like alfalfa and hay to feed livestock, Other crops are cotton and pecans; some water is used for power generation and some for municipal water use. But the river can no longer provide enough water for all those uses. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has made it their mission to revitalize the river. It’s a daunting task, one faced by my guest on Mothering Earth, Enrique Prunes, Rio Grande Manager and Freshwater Lead Specialist at World Wildlife Fund US.

Listen to Mothering Earth, Sundays at noon on KWVH.

📻 KWVH | GIVING TUESDAY 📻
Today we’re asking one simple question: Can you help?

We broadcast it all — for the community, by the community.

But we can’t do it alone.

Your Giving Tuesday support keeps the mics on and Wimberley connected.

If KWVH has ever informed you, moved you, or made you smile…
today’s the day to give back.

We'll talk about times in Europe, in the classroom, and how the heck did he get a Sara Jarosz song written about him? Join us won't you, for the quickest hour on radio, At the Hitching Post. 🎙️ STATEMENT FROM COACH LAMBERT
TEXAN NATION — THIS ONE’S FOR YOU.

“Texan Nation,
This team grew in every way this season — as leaders, as teammates, and as young men learning what it means to fight for something bigger than themselves. They showed up for one another, and they showed up for this community every single week.

And every time they looked into the stands — whether under the lights at Texan Stadium or hours away on the road — they felt your belief in them. You don’t know what it means to a team to feel their community right there with them, lifting them through the highs and the heartbreaks.

Your support meant everything to these boys — and it meant a great deal to our coaching staff as well. We felt your pride, your energy, and your unwavering commitment every step of the way.

— Coach Lambert”

🙏 Thank you, Texan Nation, for an incredible 2025 season. KWVH was honored to bring every moment to you. ❤️💙🏈
