We have a specific community member request Mom is a size 6-8 women's. Shoes size 8.
Her kids are a daughter age 11. She wears a 10, 10/12, or small/mediums. She's small/average build.
Her son is 8. He's a size 8/10 or small medium. He is also a small/average size.
Household Goods Needed:
2 barstools would be great if there are any donated. A couch/chair. 2 more beds are needed. A desk for to work from home would be wonderful. We have some kitchen items but need almost all kitchen items.
Items can be dropped at the Senior Thrift Center or River Road Thrift Center and will be available for the community member. Please let them know you are dropping them off for “Barnabas Client.”

Items can also be donated to the Wimberley Senior Center Thrift Shoppe in town! They will give items to community members in town. Items are accepted Tues- Sat 10:00-4:00. Their number is 512-847-3184

We are working with Wimberley Cafe to help feed any victims of the fires who need meal assistance and they are also working to raise funds. THANK YOU, Wimberley Cafe!!
We are working with The Wimberley Village Store to provide gift certificates to families impacted as well!! If you have items to donate, please take them to the thrift store. This is the best location for clothing and home goods!
Gift cards to HEB Or Brookshire’s ( this is best so families can repurchase food and toiletries) can be dropped off at Sonora Bank 9-5, Monday to Friday.

Families have each received emergency funds ($1,000 per My Neighbors Keeper) and additional funds from Red Cross for immediate needs as well as dinner covered tonight.
They have been covered for lodging for short term and that is being generously provided at a low rate by Cypress Falls. We will cover that cost through donated funds to the Emergency Relief Fund.
We are working with partners for longer term lodging.
We are waiting to hear back from families for IN KIND needs. If you have a family member impacted, please give them our HELPline number. 512-842-9674
We do NOT need a large amount of items dropped off at this time as there is not a place to store it.

Please DO NOT make donations of items ( clothing or other supplies) until we post a list of needs from families. We have a team at the site working with the families and first responders to get a list of needs. As with any crisis situation, we know everyone desperately wants to help but the families do not have the ability to take in items at this time. We need to get the assistance to them that is helpful and not overload them with items.
What is most helpful now is funds that help pay bills, pay for short term expenses, food, lodging and other expenses that still need to be paid even when they are not in their homes. We are working DIRECTLY with the hotel to pay for their lodging expenses

We have been made aware of at least three families ( at the moment) who have been impacted by the Fire in Wimberley today. We have been working to ensure they have temporary lodging for them but there will be many more needs. If you are wanting to help, please consider donating to our Emergency Relief Fund. This fund goes directly to families in need and provides 1:1 case management for families navigating difficult situations like these.
