WIMBERLEY OFFICIALS HANDCUFFED AND BEHIND BARS IN HAYS CO
Interim Fire Chief Chris Robbins and Wimberley EMS Director, Ken Strange are shown just hours after being handcuffed in front of staff, transported and charged with felony crimes in Hays County. Both men were questioned by Sheriff's Deputies but details have not been released to the public. Officials say the investigation is ongoing. Considered felony flight risks, bond for each man was set at $400. Stand by as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: According to the Hays County Sheriff's Office, the law enforcement event has concluded and the roadway is now back open. No other details have been shared at this time.

ORIGINAL: Hays County SWAT Team is in the area of the 2300 block of Flite Acres Road “stemming from family violence with a barricaded person.” The Hays County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that it is the same location SWAT was called out to on Sunday. There was a Shelter-In-Place order briefly on Sunday morning. After the Sunday incident was cleared, HCSO stated they “responded to a Citizen Assist call. During the call, it was determined that there may a mental health issue. There was no offense committed against the public and no danger to the public. In order to de-escalate the situation, deputies on scene made the decision to clear the scene with no further action.”

Severe flooding expected to occur tonight across the Hill Country.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch with severe conditions that pose a significant threat to life or property expected to begin at 12 a.m. on November 20 and continue until late Thursday night.
The NSA said a portion of south-central Texas could be impacted, including Hays, Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, LLano, Medina, Real Travis, Uvalder, Val Verde and Williamson counties. Possible rainfall amounts are one to three inches, but isolated totals of six to eight inches are possible.

Wimberley Cafe asks community to help chef in need of surgery

Jen Bachman, co-owner of the Wimberley Cafe and Marco’s Italian Restaurant is appealing to Wimberley residents to help their sous chef, Levi, who faced a medical emergency on Monday after his shift.“Unfortunately, he is not in stable condition,” she posted on social media, “but will be with surgery.”

After EMS personnel gave him clearance, Bachman transported the young man who prepares breakfasts at the Wimberley Cafe and is a pizza chef at Marcos to the hospital where he was admitted and is awaiting Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia surgery.”Due to unforeseen circumstances,” Bachman wrote,” she assured Levi that the Wimberley family will provide support through prayer and fundraising efforts via the Wimberley Service Industry Relief Fund, a nonprofit organization.”

Homeless woman holds up Valero at the Junction; deputies apprehend

Deputy Alyssa Davenport, Hays County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer told the Wimberley View that, “On Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m., a woman entered the Valero gas station at 9435 RR12, brandished a broken beer bottle and demanded money from an employee.”

According to Davenport, “the store employee called Hays County Sheriff deputies who pursued the woman’s vehicle and apprehended her.”

Deputies detained 35 year old Sarah Robinson, who is currently listed as homeless in Hays County, on charges of aggravated robbery and evading arrest detention with a vehicle. She is currently in the Hay’s County jail.

Hays County Sheriff's Department deputies are pursuing an alleged suspect wanted in connection with car thefts during the night. One person has been caught but, the other, a Hispanic male in a light-colored hoodie, who fled on foot in the downtown square area, has yet to be apprehended. An alert was issued by the Sheriff's office for all residents within 1 mile of 109 Oak Dr. to shelter in place until further notice.
Law enforcement personnel are currently on the Wimberley Square. People on the scene say the wall with the "Wimberley Square" lettering has been partially crashed.

The Texans defeated the Canyon Eagles 10-5 to win the 4A Team Tennis State Championship. It is the Texans' third state championship in the last five seasons.

Remember, Boo Hole is FREE but if you want to ride the mechanical pumpkin or take the haunted trail, bring a card. Parks and Rec doesn't take cash. Pink Floyd’s powerfully transporting composition “Dark Side of the Moon” will be performed live outdoors in Wimberley in complete darkness by “Will Taylor and Strings Attached.”
The performance, which takes place October 24 at 8 p.m. at Bel Canto Farms, 4205 Lone Man Mountain Rd. is one of the “Concerts in the Dark” presentations by Will Taylor and other musical artists. These distinctive shows are a “transformative way to experience acoustic music that gives listeners the opportunity to immerse themselves entirely as every note, rhythm and resonance takes center stage.”
