ROAD CLOSURE - S.R. 119 in Pulaski County | S.R. 110 in Marshall/Fulton County

State Road 119 will close between Base Rd and C.R. 100 W in Pulaski County for approximately 2 days on or after Monday, August 3. State Road 110 will close between C.R. 100 E and C.R. 350 E in Marshall/Fulton counties for approximately 1 day on or after Tuesday, August 4. These closures are for small culvert replacements.

Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews will conduct seal coat operations on two stretches of State Road 39 next week.

Scrub seal operations will first occur on State Road 39 between U.S. 30 and State Road 8 for approximately one day on or after Monday, August 3. State Road 39 will then be scrub sealed between State Road 10 and State Road 14 over the course of approximately two days starting on or after Wednesday, August 5.

Work will occur during the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes while seal coat operations are underway, but traffic will be escorted through the work zone for local access. Wait times of 15-20 minutes should be expected.

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Pulaski County in northwestern Indiana... Starke County in northwestern Indiana... Southern La Porte County in northwestern Indiana...

Until 300 PM EDT/200 PM CDT/.

At 237 PM EDT/137 PM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Valparaiso to near Kouts to Lake Village, moving east at 45 mph.

THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR SOUTHERN LA PORTE, STARKE, AND PULASKI COUNTIES!

HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

Locations impacted include... Knox, Winamac, North Judson, Wanatah, Francesville, Hamlet, Medaryville, La Crosse, Koontz Lake, Pulaski, Oak Grove, Ripley, Hanna, Monterey, Lomax, Beardstown, Ober, English Lake, Denham, and Brems.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

ROAD CLOSURES - S.R. 8 in Porter County & S.R. 39 in Pulaski County

Beginning on or after Monday, July 27, seal coat operations will be conducted on State Road 8 between U.S. 231 and State Road 49 in Porter County for approximately two days and on State Road 39 between State Road 14 and State Road 16 in Pulaski County for approximately four days
