From Kombucha on the Farm this evening at La Grange Family Farm with Dr. Darrell of Active Health Chiropractic to on farm educational opportunities next week such as harvesting garlic, skirting raw wool fleeces, feeding farm animals, or building a chicken yard and solidifying livestock fencing, as well as our upcoming June Workshop on Fresh Milled Sourdough & Baking to help you master the modern homestead kitchen and relearn ancestral skills. On this 250th anniversary of a nation built on farms we dedicate the coming week to the men and women who make agriculture special here in Frederick County. Join our participating farms during one (or all) of these upcoming community activities taking place during FredCo’s Love Your Farmer Week. Participants will have the opportunity to directly impact our local farms while learning hands on skills designed to include all ages! Join with us in revitalizing the old ways together, building lasting relationships with our farmers, and celebrating the tradition of community reliance and the interdependence that comes when a community rallies around its farmers.

FredCo Love Your Farmer Week invites the Frederick County Virginia community to step onto local farms and support the people who feed us. Join volunteer projects, meet local farmers, and experience hands-on agriculture across the Shenandoah Valley from June 14–20.

Frederick County Homesteaders is kicking off our first annual FredCo's Love Your Farmer Week next month and we’d love to have you join in!! This event is absolutely FREE for farmers, homesteaders, and the community to participate in and is our way of giving back to the backbone of our community: our men and women in agriculture.

Now more than ever, supporting local agriculture in our community is vital to ensuring the health and longevity of our farms while preserving the history and culture of our valley. FredCo’s Love Your Farmer Week is designed to bring our community alongside the families that feed us through hands-on volunteer opportunities, fellowship, skill sharing, and service during one of the busiest times of the year for our agricultural community.

Farms & Homesteads can sign up to have participants volunteer at the link in the comments on the original post. Some farms are using this opportunity to teach some really neat skills alongside having helpers tackle time consuming tasks during the busiest part of the season. This is a wonderful way to share with the community the heart that goes into what you do as farmers friends!!

Volunteer opportunities are open for everyone! Families, Homeschool Co-Ops, 4-H & FFA Chapters, church & civic organizations, businesses and companies are invited to sign up using the link in the original post. We’ve organized this event in such a way that there will be opportunities for everyone to pitch in while respecting age and ability to do so!

We are so excited to offer this special week dedicated to the men, women, and families who raise food for our community as a means of recognition and honor to all that you do and we invite the community to come alongside us in celebration of our agricultural community for this special week long Love Your Farmer Event.
