We visited Gyu San Japanese BBQ for the millionth time because we’ll never get sick of these delicious flavors and interactive dining experience!

I ordered a refreshing Gyu San Froth cocktail and crystal gyoza that’s so satisfying to break into. Then we got spicy miso pork which is a must every time we visit. We also tried harami for the first time and it wasn’t fatty at all. There’s no marination so you can choose the flavor based on the three dipping sauces they give you. We ended the meal with an order of Taiyaki and rich vanilla ice cream.

If you’ve never tried Japanese BBQ, add this restaurant to your must-try list! Read the full article review of Gyu San on our website at Vafoodie.com!

Have you ever eaten inside a pharmacy? , located inside Westwood Pharmacy, is a popular spot for classic diner food.

Here’s what we had:
Chicken and waffles
Corned beef hash
Breakfast bowl
Multiple cups of coffee

They have a pretty extensive breakfast and lunch menu and I have to say, I was impressed with the food, the service was good, the prices were great, and I’d definitely go back!

If you’re looking for a unique and delicious sweet treat, you need to stop by Chikis Pancake. 😍 Their freshly made mini pancakes come with a variety of sweet toppings and they are SO good.

When they invited us to swing by and try their pancakes, here's what we tasted:

Strawberry cheesecake - These mini pancakes are loaded with creamy cheesecake topping, then piled high with fresh strawberries and crushed graham crackers.

Boston cream pie- This one had a creamy, custard-like topping with a heavy drizzle of chocolate sauce

Dubai chocolate pancakes- These were my favorite, topped with fresh strawberries, chocolate, and pistachios!

Every single one of these was delicious and these are such a fun treat to share! Visit them inside Chesterfield Town Center or keep an eye out for their food truck at special events around the city!

Loved having lunch at Pelon's Baja Grill - this is one of my family’s favorite places to eat at the oceanfront 🌊 and they definitely make one of my favorite California Burritos 🌯

This brie and apple flatbread makes a perfect party appetizer! 😍 I’ve paired it with a glass of Southwest Mountains Vineyards’ 2020 White Blend and it was a delicious combination.

Here’s the recipe:
1 large flatbread (mine was 6”x12”)
1 tablespoon olive oil
8oz brie cheese, rind removed and sliced
1 small sweet apple, very thinly sliced
1 cup arugula
1 tablespoon honey
Salt & pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Place the flatbread on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
Top with apple slices then top with brie.
Bake for 7-10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven and top with arugula.
Drizzle with honey and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Slice and enjoy!

If you’re looking for delicious homemade cookies in Richmond, Virginia, you need to check out Bites by Bina! This young entrepreneur is baking up seriously delicious treats!

Here’s what I got:
Chocolate chip
Lemon shortbread
Oatmeal chocolate chip
Banana pudding

Every single flavor was excellent. I loved the oatmeal chocolate chip because it was perfectly chewy with slightly crispy edges and plenty of chocolate chips. But I have to admit that the banana pudding was the one that really blew me away! The banana pudding was so creamy and the cookie base was like the best graham cracker crust you’ve ever had. This one knocked it out of the park! I can’t wait to try more of her creations. 🥰

If you’re on the hunt for delicious pizza in Old Town Alexandria, you have to check out Handover by the Slice! Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by the first pizza-by-the-slice concept in the area and experience their incredible pizza.

Be sure to check out Kings Ransom, their cocktail bar upstairs, too! They have a fun selection of seasonal drinks!

My family and I do pizza night every week now that we found the perfect slice. Trust me, you won’t regret visiting this hidden gem!

There are a lot of great taco spots in Richmond but my current obsession is Cochiloco. 😍

Here’s what we go:
Chips and salsa- They have a salsa bar with tons of options to try.
Vegetariano Taco - this is loaded with potatoes, beans, and cactus.
Tacos dorados- Potato filled fried tacos. They’re crispy on the outside and the potato filling is really light and fluffy. SO good.

Our total with tax & tip was $31.38

They also have a full bar if you’re in the mood for beer or a margarita!

We recently stopped into Freddy Donuts and loved how cute and friendly this shop was! We decided to try an old fashioned as well as their seasonal pumpkin spice flavor. Both of these were tasty (and huge!) perfect to pair with a cup of coffee.

Our total for these two donuts was $6.70.

What’s your favorite donut shop in Virginia?

Let’s visit Pizza Bones! This place uses a sourdough crust and bakes their pies in a brick oven so their pizza is unlike anything else in Richmond!

We tried their cacio e pepe pizza which was the daily special. It was super rich and creamy and had that perfect peppery flavor. We also got a classic cheese pizza which had a really nice sauce and they don’t skimp on the cheese! To round things out, we tried their pickled vegetable (at the time, it was carrots) which were nice and crunchy with a good briny tang. We washed it down with a couple of . (We love these, and they’re made in Richmond!)

The shop has indoor and outdoor seating (it’s not huge but there are a handful of tables inside and outside) and they also have a bar on the other side of the building which would be such a cute spot to meet a friend for a drink!

The service was awesome, the prices were great, and we had plenty of pizza to take home. Definitely check this place out the next time you’re craving pizza!

Let’s go visit !

8 1/2 is on Strawberry St. right next to .rva. (So you have the perfect excuse to pick up a pint of ice cream while you’re there.)

This is one of our favorite pizza spots. The red pizza is just a liiiittle bit spicy. We also love the white pizza which is made with fontina. No dairy? No problem, their vegan pizza is SO good. It’s topped with cannellini beans and broccoletti. (I’m not vegan but this is one of my favorite pizzas.)

This time, we opted for a red pizza as well as the broccoletti pasta. We added ricotta + pine nuts to the pasta (highly recommend) and this meal filled us up with plenty of food leftover for lunch. 😉

They’re open everyday from 11a-10p.. (Keep in mind it’s takeout only.)
