Northern Lights over Laurel Lake – November 11, 2025

Haven’t shared this one yet. Was a bit disappointed I couldn’t get to this location sooner. A fleeting but vivid aurora display just before clouds rolled in around 10 PM. Mount Monadnock stands in silhouette against the green arc.

I’ve always been a bit of a dreamer when it comes to photography—chasing those once-in-a-lifetime moments that feel like they’re straight out of a postcard. And let me tell you, snapping this old grain silo under the swirling dance of the northern lights? That’s been scribbled at the top of my bucket list for years.. and the 25 degree wind chill was 100% worth it.👌🏼

It’s not just a photo, it’s the kind of scene that reminds you why we point our lenses at the world in the first place. Raw, untamed beauty that no filter could ever fake. The clouds are starting to come in now, so it was fun while it lasted.. Fingers cross the aurora continues to puts on a show tomorrow! 🌌📸

As the sun dips below the horizon at 7:22 PM on this September evening, its fiery embrace ignites the sky and mirrors a fleeting symphony of nature’s resilience in the still waters below.

Can never get enough of these sunsets.

Vibrant sunflower field under a stunning blue sky. ☀️

I was driving by this field when I saw the mountains in the distance, and couldn’t resist!

🌻 Fun fact: Did you know sunflowers can grow up to 12 feet tall and turn their heads to follow the sun (a process called heliotropism)? Plus, they’re not just pretty—they’re champs at cleaning up soil by absorbing toxins! In other words, plant more sunflowers!! 🤣 — Follow along for more of my nature adventures and photography tips. 😃

02.10.25

The road winds quiet here, framed by trees heavy with snow. It’s a snapshot from earlier this year, but it’s starting to feel like a preview. I know most folks aren’t ready to hear it—but winter’s never too far off in New Hampshire.

The chill creeps in slowly. The leaves begin to whisper. And before long, scenes like this won’t just be memories—they’ll be reality again.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts. The frost is waiting in the wings. ❄️⛄️

🦆 Wrapped in feathers, resting in grace.

This sweet mallard looked like she was wearing the coziest down jacket nature could offer. Her soft, mottled plumage and calm demeanor gave off such a peaceful energy—like she knew exactly how to be still in a busy world.

There’s something quietly beautiful about the way wildlife carries itself. No rush, no fuss. Just presence.

Some skies just know how to make an entrance.

It’s wild how something so routine can still feel so extraordinary. Grateful for evenings like this that remind me to look up, breathe deep, and take it all in.

Just one month to go until autumn officially begins —arguably the most vibrant season of all 🍂

The air hasn’t turned crisp yet, but there’s a subtle shift in the light, a softness in the evenings, a whisper of change in the trees. It’s the season that reminds us to slow down, to notice the color in the quiet, and to find meaning in the stillness.

Today’s post leans into that spirit. It’s not about blazing foliage or golden hour glow—it’s about simplicity, connection, and the kind of peace that doesn’t need to announce itself. Two figures out on the water, no rush, no noise. Just the rhythm of the lake, the patience of the moment, and the kind of silence that speaks volumes.

Sometimes the most vivid stories are told in black and white.
