What a year! We were proud to share three blocks of amazing films today. Congrats to all of the filmmakers for making such fantastic shorts. Here is a video announcing the nominated and winning films for 2026.

Hi filmmakers! As you know, the winner of Best Short at Virginia Emerging Filmmakers Festival is automatically included in Film Club's Lost Weekend Film Festival at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Wi******er, VA (the same venue as VEFF). For the first time ever, Film Club's Lost Weekend is now taking submissions on FilmFreeway as well. Lost Weekend is not just for students, so VEFF alumni can submit as well. Shorts and features are welcome, and it's a chance to screen next to films from major distributors.
