funny enough right after i shot this, the dreaded question number 7 happened to us and we hadn’t talked about it before hand! so now we have a rule in place for that. but these are questions/conversations you should have BEFORE you merge finances with your partner!

i post these regardless of whether we save/invest a ton or not because transparency matters regardless! budget our $4,612 paychecks as gen-z homeowners living in connecticut with no kids.

ashton’s check is lower because the FAA ran out of money they give to air traffic controllers at harder to staff locations and that won’t be replenished until october 🙃. ashton also just increased his retirement from 7% to 10% so his checks are going to get LOWER. i just decreased my retirement from 9% to 6% because my employer only matches up to 6% so we’re diverting that money to ashton’s.
