Apparently, having the last name of Evans and naming my photography business Evans Emergency Photography has created confusion, even amongst those I’ve photographed around for years. I am NOT affiliated nor have I ever claimed to be affiliated with Evans Fire District in Evans, Colorado. I am however, affiliated with Loveland Fire Rescue Authority as a volunteer photographer as well as Galeton Fire Protection District.

A vehicle crashed into a local residence early Wednesday afternoon, triggering a swift emergency response to prevent a structural collapse.

At approximately 1:39 PM on July 1, 2026, Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) Engine 6 and Tower 1 were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival they recognized the structural damage to the home and crews immediately requested Rescue 4 for support and began evaluating one patient on scene.

To safely clear the scene, the crew from Tower 1 utilized their front-bumper mounted winch to carefully pull the vehicle out of the building. Firefighters then initiated shoring operations, erecting temporary supports to stabilize the compromised home and ensure the safety of its occupants until permanent repairs can be made.

At approximately 18:15 on May 14th, 2026 the Weld County Regional Communications Center dispatched Windsor Severance Fire Rescue to a small vegetation fire south of Bayfront Drive moving southeast. Upon the arrival of fire crews they requested a second alarm vegetation fire due to the wind conditions, access and proximity to residential structures. Upon the arrival of Battalion 401, he assumed command and noted approximately a 1-acre, creeping vegetation fire and stood down most of the second alarm units. Crews made a quick knock of the fire after it made a run directly toward residential structures due to a wind speed change. Fire crews remained on scene to complete an extensive mop-up and ensure the entire burn scar was cold. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Windsor Police Department and Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue.

At approximately 10:01 AM on May 8, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority was dispatched to the 1100 block of North Garfield Avenue after a passerby reported hearing smoke alarms. First-arriving crews from Engine 41 confirmed a working fire in the kitchen and transitioned quickly into an offensive attack.

Thanks to the rapid response and coordination between LFRA, Berthoud Fire, and Thompson Valley EMS, the fire was quickly knocked down with no extension into the attic. Crews remained on scene through the morning to complete overhaul and begin the investigation.

Last month, I had the incredible honor of joining Loveland Fire Rescue Authority to welcome the High Plains Honor Flight veterans back home.

The atmosphere shifted the moment those veterans stepped off the plane. For many who served in Vietnam and never received the "Welcome Home" they deserved, seeing them greeted with handshakes, hugs, and true compassion was a moment I won’t soon forget. The courage it took for these men and women to lay everything down for our nation is beyond words.

It was a privilege to capture the commitment and heart that every member of LFRA—sworn and non-sworn—pours into this community.
