The countdown is on for our 28th Annual CRIS Radio Golf Classic happening next Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Tunxis Country Club!

We’re so excited to spend the day on the green with our amazing golfers, supporters and friends, all while raising funds for CRIS Radio, Connecticut’s only radio reading service for people who are blind or print challenged.

The 28th Annual CRIS Radio Golf Classic is happening Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Tunxis Country Club in Farmington, CT.

This year’s event is proudly presented by our Title Sponsors, WFSB - Channel 3 Eyewitness News and Scot Haney, WFSB Meteorologist and Co-host of Great Day Connecticut and Great Day . Scot will also be joining us as our emcee!

Registration is $175 and includes a full day of golf with a cart, a delicious barbecue lunch on the green, a grilled steak dinner, dessert, soft drinks and complimentary beer during lunch and the reception hour.

The event also features a 50/50 raffle, a called auction, and a wide range of exciting raffle prizes and experiences all in support of CRIS Radio, Connecticut’s only radio reading service for people who are blind or print challenged.

We’re honored to be featured in this Journal Inquirer article highlighting our work made possible with support from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. This grant helps cover operating costs and supports our CRISKids Book Club and CRISKids Braille Book Club, bringing accessible audio content to children and families across Connecticut.

CRIS operates 24/7, providing audio versions of articles from more than 70 newspapers and magazines.

We are very much saddened by the passing of Gov. M. Jodi Rell, a true CRIS Radio champion who once served as a volunteer reader. She believed in our mission of making the world more accessible, and celebrated our Windsor broadcast center ribbon-cutting event in 2010. Our condolences to her family and close friends.

At the Connecticut Youth Services Association’s annual conference in Hartford today to share the CRISKids Audio Book Club evaluation results. More than 80% of students using CRISKids during the summer did not experience the summer slide and lowest level readers improved reading skills more compared to those who did not use CRISKids.
