Great news, iOS Jailbreakers!

Pangu Team has released its jailbreak tool (Windows only for now) for iOS 9.2 - 9.3.3.

An application will be downloaded to your PC called PP_Helper, double click it and it is the same tool as previous Pangu jailbreaks.

Many tweaks still work, and now that the jailbreak is out in the wild, more tweaks and continued development of existing tweaks will likely continue.

If you'd like any help with jailbreaking your device (except iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPod touch 5G, iPad mini, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, which are all 32-bit devices and have not had proper patching done yet - iPhone 5s CAN be jailbroken though) please send me a message or sound off in the comment section below.

Sign in - Google Accounts

Handy Pro Tip if you have Google as your main web browser and need to know your own password that you auto-saved for a website. Go to http://passwords.google.com (seriously!) and it will take you to your sign-in page, where you can then delete or investigate passwords you have auto-saved on all your Google-enabled devices over the years.

iOS 10 Developer Beta 2 (and watchOS 3 beta 2) came out today, and both seem to squash many bugs in Beta 1. Hopefully Apple will continue this trend all the way to final GM. Battery life is the same and all seems to be fast and stable.

Greetings .. So ..

A followup for those of you interested in iOS 10 Developer Preview (aka Beta 1). Fantastic so far, and aside from some small visual glitches and obvious fixes due to the fact that they rewrote things from the inside out, it is shaping up to be a strong 10.0.0 firmware release. Stay tuned for more goodness as the weeks progress!

Here is a handy Extension for Google Chrome users (Mac or PC) which will put an icon in your address bar to show you the internal [192.168.1.x] and external IP address of your computer. Useful for VNC and other kinds of troubleshooting / IP conflicts. Enjoy!

The ability for iOS users to jailbreak has returned with Pangu's release of their tool for iOS 9.0.0 - 9.0.2 (Officially it is for Windows users only, for now, but VMware / Parallels for Mac works fine as well).

Hello everyone. iOS jailbreaking update.

I did not post an update about iOS 8.4, and now unless you already have 8.4 on your phone (NOT 8.4.1), you cannot update and jailbreak, as Apple has stopped allowing the download and install (aka "digitally signing") of any firmware except the currently unjailbreakable 8.4.1.

As iOS 9 is right around the corner, the two competing teams TaiG and Pangu, have decided to save any possible exploits for the first release of iOS 9, and then some time in the future after that they may release a jailbreak for 8.4.1.

Good news, everyone!

TaiG has released a jailbreak for iOS 8.3 =)

I will compile current information and post it here in the next few days. So far, the two devices I have jailbroken work just as well if not better than when on 8.1.1., with existing tweaks and a few additions.

Battery life on 8.3 seems to be improved, though that may be a placebo effect due to the fact that it's a shiny new install ..

Will keep you posted!

The most current Apple iDevice firmware [anything higher than 8.1.2 - meaning 8.2, 8.3, 8.4] cannot be jailbroken at the moment, but as soon as a tool is released I will post a tutorial as to how you can do the procedure yourself or, I would be happy to do it for you. Stay tuned!

Do rest assured, development teams are working on a jailbreak, they just want to release it at the right time.

If you have an iDevice with 8.1.1 firmware or below and are interested in jailbreaking it, do please send me a message here and we can find a time slot that works for you.

Scroll down to see my posts below about the benefits of jailbreaking. The name "jailbreak" refers to the process of allowing your device to do more than originally allowed, by setting it free or "breaking it from jail," anything from changing icons to system sounds, to overall iDevice behavior.

Where to Download Pangu Jailbreak From

As promised, here is a link to the current 7.1.1 jailbreak. I would be happy to provide technical support and system tweak site location info (the sites are "repositories" or "repo"s for short).

Jailbreaking is harmless in that it doesn't "break" anything, it just allows you deeper access into the phone's inner workings, allowing it to do things it could not right out-of-the-box. It is also fully reversible with an iTunes Restore.

The jailbreak for iOS is BACK! It works for every existing iPhone / iPad / iPod to date, running iOS 7.1.1.

So far, AppleTV 3rd generation (current model) has yet to be jailbroken, but there are many ways to send items to the AppleTV - including Apple's own native protocol AirPlay - that it almost makes a jailbreak unnecessary. If we receive information as to how to free that device as well, we'll be sure to post it here!

Here are a few pictures of some of the cosmetic features of a jailbroken iPhone 4s. Pretty different. And a bit more pleasing to the eye than the "stock" iOS. That is what jailbreaking is all about, customizing your iDevice to make it your own.

In case you were wondering what a "Hackintosh" is .. (which I can install or build for you) .. and how it might benefit you --

Using existing (recent) PC hardware, you can run any version of Mac OS X, including 10.9 Mavericks, for a fraction of the cost of a "real Mac."

Current generation Macs are based around off-the-shelf Intel processors, with a software checkpoint to ensure that it's a "real Mac."

There are public domain tools - which I can install - created and supported by a very talented group of "Mac enthusiasts," to convert a dedicated PC to a Hackintosh.

You would have to buy a copy of MacOS X, of course, and it would need its own hard drive for the contents (the file structure and disk formatting is different from PC, though you CAN keep an install of any flavor of Windows on another hard drive and run Windows at native speed at the same time as the Mac OS, if desired - Very handy).

A comparable MacPro would cost about $3,500, versus under a grand for the same spec of Hackintosh. The advantage of the Hackintosh too, is that if you outgrow the features of the system, you can easily have them upgraded, including the CPU (the "brain"), or even new logic board features.

Hackintosh truly is the best of both worlds.
