Hit a new milestone today 💪 — 265 lb deadlift 1 rep max

And what makes this one even better…
3 months ago my deadlift max was 225 lbs.

That’s a 40 lb jump in a short amount of time — just from showing up, staying consistent, and putting in the work.

So what’s a 1 rep max (1RM)?
It’s the heaviest weight you can lift for one clean, controlled rep with good form. No momentum, no shortcuts — just strength.

Why it matters:
• Shows real progress over time
• Builds confidence under heavy weight
• Trains your body and mind to handle intensity
• Gives you a benchmark to grow from

Deadlifts specifically are powerful because they train:

* Glutes
* Hamstrings
* Back
* Core
* Grip strength

It’s one of the most complete strength-building movements you can do.

And going heavy (when done correctly) helps:

* Build strength faster
* Improve overall athletic power
* Strengthen your body for real-life movement

But the key is always control, form, and knowing your limits — not just chasing numbers.

Proud of the progress… and even more excited for what’s next 💪

Chest day hits different when you keep it simple and effective đź’Ş

• Flat Bench Chest Press
This compound movement hits your entire chest while also engaging your shoulders and triceps—making it one of the best exercises for overall upper body strength.

• Flat Bench Chest Flies
Flies are all about stretch and control. They help improve muscle definition by targeting the chest in a wider range of motion than pressing movements.

• Machine Chest Flies
Using a machine keeps constant tension on your chest the entire time, which can help with muscle growth and really focusing on form.

And honestly… workouts are just better with someone by your side. Whether it’s for motivation, accountability, or just making it more fun—you’re way more likely to push through when you’re not doing it alone. Thanks hubby for the examples!

Let’s be real here, that’s what this page is all about.

Today I woke up in a funk, first thing I thought was my depression is back, cause depression doesn’t care what day or time it is. I got the kids to school and went home and passed back out till 12. I was worried, unmotivated and lacking energy.

Well good and bad news I got my monthly gift from Mother Nature. I was relieved, I wasn’t going crazy again even though I thought I was.

I sat on the side of my bed for a half hour telling myself “just go to the gym and walk”, “do a light workout”, “stay for only 20 minutes”, “as long as you go your staying consistent.”

So I did, I got up, got an iced coffee, drove the long way to the gym so I could enjoy the coffee. Sat in the parking lot for a few minutes saying a prayer to the Lord to give me strength.

I went inside and got on the treadmill at an incline of 3%, nothing crazy. At a 2.0 walking speed, again nothing crazy. I did that for 20 minutes and actually built up a small sweat, my lower back pain and cramps died down.

Then I did 4 exercises, no plan, I just needed movement. Each exercise I did, I only lifted my warm up weight and that was heavy! It felt good and I actually have some energy even after some time of leaving the gym.

Not everyday is going to be push as hard as you can, some days are for just showing up, staying consistent, and showing yourself you are capable of things you didn’t think you could do. I am more proud of me today than any other day I’ve been in the gym, cause today I pushed myself mentally and that’s just as important as your muscle gains and fat loss.

You are capable of anything. With a little motivation from family members, God, or yourself it goes a long way! Even on your not so good days, there’s always an opportunity to make it a lil bit better.

LEG DAY 🔥

Today’s focus: building strong, powerful legs with the basics that actually work.

🏋️‍♀️ Barbell Squats
The king of leg day. This compound movement works your quads, glutes, hamstrings, and even your core.
👉 Fact: Squats engage multiple muscle groups at once, making them one of the most effective full lower-body exercises.

🦵 Leg Press
Perfect for pushing heavy weight while supporting your back and focusing on controlled movement.
👉 Fact: Most people can press significantly more weight here than in a squat because the machine provides stability.

🔥 Leg Extensions
Time to isolate and burn out those quads. Slow and controlled reps make all the difference.
👉 Fact: This is one of the few exercises that directly isolates the quadriceps for targeted muscle growth.

Leg day isn’t easy… but that’s why it works 💪
Stay consistent, push yourself, and trust the process.

Chicken Pea Protein Salad 💪🥗

This turned out SO good and is perfect for quick meals, snacks, or a high-protein side!

Here’s what I used:
• 2 cans chickpeas (drained & mashed)
• 1 can chicken (drained)
• Mayo
• Salad cubes (relish)
• Red onion
• Celery
• Shredded carrots & garlic/onion powder, garlic salt to taste 👅

Estimated protein:
• Chickpeas (2 cans): ~28–30g
• Chicken (1 can): ~30–35g

👉 Total protein for the whole batch: ~60–65g

If you split it into 3 servings, that’s about 20g+ protein per serving 🔥

Super simple, filling, and easy to grab when you’re in a hurry. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation!

Let’s talk about dumbbell shoulder presses 💪

Same exercise… but different goals depending on how you do it 👇

Lifting weights (general fitness):

* Moderate weight
* 10–15 reps
* Focus on feeling the burn and controlling the movement
* Great for toning shoulders and burning calories

Strength training:

* Heavier weight
* 4–8 reps
* Focus on building strength and pushing yourself
* Longer rest between sets

👉 Same movement, different purpose.

If your goal is fat loss and getting fit, you can actually use both styles in your workouts!

Start lighter to warm up and get a good burn, then go heavier for a few sets to build strength đź’Ą

A lot of people think “lifting weights” and “strength training” are the same thing—but they’re actually a little different 👇

Lifting weights is a general term. It just means you’re using weights (dumbbells, machines, barbells) to work your muscles. This could be for toning, burning calories, or building muscle.

Strength training is more specific. The goal here is to get stronger. That usually means lifting heavier weights for fewer reps and focusing on big movements like squats, deadlifts, and bench press.

👉 Simple way to think about it:
All strength training is lifting weights… but not all lifting weights is strength training.

Both are important, and both have a place depending on your goals đź’Ş
