โœจ Meet Nova โœจ

Born and raised in the Triad, Nova is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts whose journey has carried her from BFA Acting to professional circuses.
Today, she brings her artistry home, sharing the magic of movement, aerial dance, and fire performance with her community through her company Dreams in Motion.

As a dancer, circus artist, and producer, Nova creates performances that blend wonder, play, and sacred sensuality.

Through teaching at The Collective Movement Studio in Burlington, private bookings, and partnerships with studios across North Carolina, Nova cultivates safe spaces for artists and neurodivergent souls to heal through play therapy and embodied movement. Beyond the stage, she is producing her debut album Temple of the Muse and training toward becoming a National Board Certified Holistic Health Specialist, fusing art and wellness into a single transformative path.

With Dreams in Motion, Novaโ€™s mission is clear: to awaken confidence, embrace sensuality, and remind us all of the joy, power, and healing found in the simple act of play.

Novaโ€™s current project, Akaraka: Temple of the Muse, (developed during her residency at the CMPND) is more than an album. It is an activation: a sonic and embodied journey meant to awaken ancient memory, guide us into confidence, and remind us that blooming requires balanceโ€”our darkness and our light, our shadow and our shine. Temple of the Muse honors the truth that every muse deserves a templeโ€”a sanctuary for expression, healing, and divine play.

During the Artistic Elements Resident Showcase, Nova will share her artistry with a dazzling aerial act and fire performance โ€” a reminder of the joy, power, and transformation found in embodied movement.

Join us this Saturday, June 14th at 3:30 PM at CMPND for a special afternoon of live music, and a conversation with the talented Zara at Soul Sessions WS

Zara is a 19-year old Music and Marketing student at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.

Sheโ€™s been performing professionally with her guitar all around North Carolina for the past few years. From bars and clubs to festivals and even the beach, she plays mainly country and pop music but loves to throw in a few wildcards here and there.

Her performance style is really interactive as she enjoys engaging the audience with humorous stories and coversation, even taking song requests when possible. Connecting with the crowd in this way strengthens her musical reach.
