The classic "Appalachian" wedge AKA "Cold air Damming will be with us here in the Carolinas this week. This is a pattern we typically see in fall and winter where High pressure to the north gives us Northeast flow banking up against the mountains, trapping the cold in place. At the same time, warm/moisture air to the south up and over rides that cooler air at the surface. Tuesday and Wednesday look the wettest from he Piedmont areas west. Highs in the 60s to low 70s. Slow warming by the weekend, but still staying below normal with rain chances continuing.
