HIGH HEAT ALERT: The heat index or "feel like temps" will approach 100 in the Triad by Thursday and Friday. And before the social media trolls start commenting, heat is the number 1 weather related killer in the country every year. Of course we've seen higher heat indices before. But it's my job to alert people of these dangers. Each summer we see people with heat stroke/exhaustion because they simply ignore the weather forecast. Take it easy during these days. If you work outdoors, take frequent breaks and stay in the shade as much as possible. Stay hydrated with water and avoid outdoor workouts or physical activities during the hottest part of the day.

Hot and very humid over the next several days. Most locations in the Piedmont will stay dry most of the day, but each day there will be a chance for a few showers and storms (Hit or miss kind). By Thursday and Friday the Heat Index or "feel like temps" will approach 98-101. Slightly lower humidity expected on Saturday and hot. Then Sunday through next week we'll be back in that pattern of a few showers and storms popping up.

It's going to get hot and very humid across the Carolinas by Thursday and Friday. Highs in the Triad around 92-94. But with the high humidity, the Heat Index ("feels like temps") will ranges from 99-104. Make sure you take it easy on those days. Stay hydrated with Water, take frequent breaks, and avoid your outdoor workouts or physical activity during the hours by 11AM-7PM.

Wedged in with some cooler air today along with clouds. Outside of the wedge areas like Raleigh in the mid 80s. A few isolated t-showers will be possible this evening the Piedmont. High will top out in the upper 80s to low 90s over the next several days with hit or miss T-showers. Not everyone will see them, but if you come under a storm, heavy rain and localized flash flooding will be possible.
