Interesting to say the least but, when I went to announce at Mobile International Speedway a month or so ago, a guy approached me and asked if he could spread his Uncle’s ashes on the frontstretch and I didn’t hesitate and said absolutely you can. He went back in the stands and got two other people and us four had a moment, I said a prayer and they spread em right across the stripe during the meet and greet!! That was definitely a first for me!! 🎤

Yesterday a judge decided that NASCAR’s top owners, Rick Hendrick and Roger Penske, must answer questions under oath about how NASCAR runs things. Their testimony could be key in deciding if NASCAR is breaking antitrust laws. The judge denied their requests to avoid being deposed or to limit the scope of their testimony. So in other words, it sounds like Judge Bell is looking for transparency. That’s MY interpretation of yesterday’s ruling.

Also, the lawsuit has shifted focus, the teams have dropped part of their claim and will now only pursue whether NASCAR illegally used its monopoly power, as the court has already ruled that NASCAR does possess monopoly power over the “premier stock-car racing” market.

As I’ve said before, this is ugly and I actually understand all of it somewhat, thanks to Kenny Wallace. With that being said, I just try to “dumb it down” even further from what I read and hear from people like KW and Matt Weaver.

I want to include my buddy Johnny N Angie Tilley, JTV, in this conversation because he’s a sports guru; has the legalization of sports betting changed the way the game is played? This is about the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL and we can include MMA and soccer, college sports and so on.

Bowman Gray Stadium Sportsman drivers, the 2026 rules are now posted on the BGS website, https://bowmangrayracing.com.

*Beginning in 2027 the only engine permitted will be the 602 Crate Engine. Carburetor TBD.
