C&R Press

C&R Press Conscious and Responsible | We Love Books | Long Live Books We love books. Today, C&R Press is taking that classic communication and pushing into new media.

Literature matters in today’s world because it lets us explore and share the best of what we think, and who we can be. Good fiction, nonfiction and poetry grow understanding and imagination, take us into new lives and show us truths we never knew. For thousands of years, the written word and storytelling has been mankind's primary form of multigenerational communication. So we’re looking for talen

ted authors and poets – both new and established – whose work we help refine, support, publish and promote. And, through their works, we’re looking to grow the reading public’s love of reading, writing, crafting and dreaming. Let other people say that books are dead, that their time is past. Since 2006 we’ve been helping writers and readers prove that idea wrong – and we’re just getting started. Long live books.

FICTION SELECTION
Bria Purdy w/ The Harebell

ABOUT:
A woman boards a boat heading for an unnamed island. Her only instructions are to observe and keep a record of the dying native plant life. Haunted by memories of the past, carrying out an increasingly hopeless and incongruous task, she begins to wonder about the people who brought her here and why she was sent to watch everything die. Until one day, she discovers a new, thriving plant and must confront what it means for all she believed about the impossibility of a future.

C&R congratulates everyone on the the 2025 shortlist and longlist (compelling & serious writing all around), and everyone who submitted as well. As always, the selection process had many manuscripts worthy of publication and serious consideration across all genres. We hope everyone lands where they need to be!

(Updated 9.23): We are in the process of testing the new site and importing image files and other data. This process has taken longer than expected and even when we go live with the new site, we'll likely experience bugs and hiccups that need to be fixed. We appreciate your patience. Tech work is not terribly easy for us.

(Updated 5.15): Most functionality has been restored, though our check out app is a new plugin for most books. Some of our older titles are still connected to the previous commerce system., If you have difficulty, hit us up on FB. Coming soon, we are working on a revamped website, possibly as early as June.

(Updated 4.7): We continue to make improvements to the website, although our commerce app is still giving us fits. We thank you for your patience as we continue to debug our site.

(Updated 3.27): Website is back! However our commerce app is still wonky. Please stay tuned for updates on that. C&R books are still and always available on Bookshop and Amazon and other digital vendors. Emails are still touch and go. Thanks for your continued patience.

(Updated 3.19) Website Update:
Dear supporters, Apologies, but our domain host has let the ball drop after we migrated plans and underwent a routine site maintenance. The C&R site is currently down. We are working to have that up and running in the next few DAYS.
Also, our emails are frozen. Please reach us on FB or IG if need be.

Contest Update:
Please note that we can be reached via IG and FB. We will be announcing the Summer Tide Pool selection shortly as well as the Fiction Contest selection (which we acknowledge is running behind schedule). We will announce each item on FB and in our newsletter before posting to the website.

Thanks for your support and patience.
