So we’re looking for talented authors and poets – both new and established – whose work we help refine, support, publish and promote. And, through their works, we’re looking to grow the reading public’s love of reading, writing, crafting and dreaming. Let other people say that books are dead, that their time is past. Since 2006 we’ve been helping writers and readers prove that idea wrong – and we’re just getting started. Long live books.

ABOUT:
A woman boards a boat heading for an unnamed island. Her only instructions are to observe and keep a record of the dying native plant life. Haunted by memories of the past, carrying out an increasingly hopeless and incongruous task, she begins to wonder about the people who brought her here and why she was sent to watch everything die. Until one day, she discovers a new, thriving plant and must confront what it means for all she believed about the impossibility of a future.

C&R congratulates everyone on the the 2025 shortlist and longlist (compelling & serious writing all around), and everyone who submitted as well. As always, the selection process had many manuscripts worthy of publication and serious consideration across all genres. We hope everyone lands where they need to be!

We're pleased to announce that later this year we will publish a second edition of Kelli Allen's first book "Otherwise, Soft White Ash", with a forward by Brian Turner. Look for pre-sales coming soon! This is the second, second edition we've published of an author's book. The first second-edition was Millennial Roost by Dustin Pearson with an introduction by Jericho Brown.
