One of my favorite traditions of travel nursing is sending my friends, family, and travel nurse recruiters postcards from where I am on assignment💌📬

It is a great time to reflect on some of my favorite moments while in a place for a short time. Many have said it makes them feel like they are experiencing it with me😄

And exciting news- I’ll be staying until January in California🌞🌊 Can’t wait to explore more of what this beautiful state has to offer!

Penny and I are in California! 🌊🌞

These past few weeks have been spent exploring California and getting settled into my new home and job! I went on a solo trip a few weeks ago and these photos are from the “17 Mile Drive” along the California Coast! These photos don’t even do it justice 🤩🌊

Not gonna lie- moving, starting a new job, meeting new people, and wanting to spend every minute of free time I have exploring the area has left me with little energy to spread my book around in person and online 😅 I am hoping to get back in the swing of things soon and get more inspired! But in the meantime I hope you enjoy this update and stay tuned for more ❤️

We played, drank some good drinks, read, and colored in Penny’s Port coloring pages ( the black and white version of my book before the color was added in 😉🖍️)

Just finished an amazing 6 month contract in Colorado and it was everything that I hoped for and more😄⛷️🏔️ And of course I had to bring Penny along on all of these adventures!

Last week I had the privilege of attending Children's Hospital Colorado ‘s Community Partner Fair! I had a table with Stand & Fight Foundation to explain to patients, families, and staff how we have collaborated to help patients at the hospital receive fight boxes with Penny’s Port inside!😄

I enjoyed connecting with patients who currently have a port or had one at some point in their life. One mother got teary eyed when she saw my book and said her child would have loved to have this book when they were going through treatment 🥲I was able to give out some donations of my book to those special patients!

I also spoke with an aspiring author about my publishing process and gave her tips and tricks on how to start her own children’s book about medication safety! 💊

This event was a great way to end my time at Children's Hospital Colorado and I’m happy about the impact Penny made here 🤩
