Eastern NC Weather - NCHurricane.com

Eastern NC Weather - NCHurricane.com Tracking extreme weather affecting Eastern North Carolina since 2003. NCHurricane.com is not to be used for making life or death decisions.

Started in 2003 as a small weather information page on my families’ stock car racing website, NCHurricane has undergone many changes over the last 18 years. The website, as well as the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Periscope and YouTube pages are all a one-man job. I am a long-time weather enthusiast and love to explore and learn all types of weather phenomena. Tropical weather in the Atlantic and

the many storms that have have affected my home of North Carolina have always fascinated me, hence the name I chose for the website - NCHurricane. I always welcome feedback from my followers, so please let me know if there is anything that I can do to improve your experience on any of the platforms that I cover. It is merely a link resource site for finding information. Please visit the National Weather Service (weather.gov) and National Hurricane Center (nhc.noaa.gov) for official information concerning forecast and potential impacts to your area. www.nchurricane.com

5/5/25 @ 10 AM - We're only 28 days away from the start of hurricane season. Are you ready?

The best time to prepare for hurricanes is BEFORE hurricane season begins. Avoid having to rush through potentially life-saving preparations by waiting until it's too late. Get your disaster supplies while the shelves are still stocked, and get that insurance checkup early, as flood insurance requires a 30-day waiting period.

5/4/25 @ 10 AM - Today starts Hurricane Preparedness Week! Hurricane season is only 28 days away, and we want to make sure everyone is ready.

The first step of preparing for hurricanes is to know your risk. Find out today what types of water and wind hazards could happen where you live. Hurricanes are not just a coastal problem. Impacts from wind and water can be felt hundreds of miles inland, and significant impacts can occur regardless of the storm's strength. Know if you live in an area prone to flooding, if you live in an evacuation zone, and identify any structural weaknesses in your home.
