More profiling and selective rights on display by so called "leadership"
Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice & Coalition Against Broadview ICE Facility CONDEMNS Superintendent Snelling Remarks on Operation Midway Blitz
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
The Coalition Against Broadview ICE Facility EMPHATICALLY CONDEMNS Superintendent Larry Snelling remarks that he stands by his Chicago Police Officers actions while “Operation Midwest Blitz” remains on full display that caused tremendous harm to our communities.
Did Superintendent Snelling forget that his Chicago Police Officers were pepper sprayed?
The world witnessed masked vigilantes UNALIVED Silverio Villegas Gonzalez by ICE Agents that conducted an illegal traffic stop. Marimar Martinez was shot five times by Border Patrol Agents. A South Shore apartment complex that houses Black and Brown people were under siege by hundreds of ICE Agents on the ground and agents rappelling from helicopters resulting in 37 arrests leaving a community terrified.
Then “Operation Midwest Blitiz” unleashed its terror in Little Village, Humboldt Park, Elgin and other surrounding communities to create fear and uncertainty.
More lawlessness from this operation which resulted in hundreds of protesters arrested unlawfully. The world witnessed ICE Agents attacking unarmed protesters with rubber bullets, tear gas, pepper spray, and military tanks all against American citizens at the Broadview ICE Facility.
A descent human being with morals and empathic for humanity sake, would not stand by to watch the months of terror to be silent like Superintendent Snelling. In fact, this is a heartless individual that is blind to this reality.
The reality we are seeing today is that, protesters are still being arrested unlawfully for exercising their constitutional right to freedom of speech and expression by Broadview Police, Cook County Sheriff and Illinois State Police.”
