It's been 50 years since a killer tornado uprooted many lives in White County.

The News & Review is publishing a special 50th Remembrance magazine to tell the stories of local residents who were here on that day.

We want to share your stories and photos from that destructive day day, April 3, 1974.

We want to know your stories of how you remember that day. We want to share your photos from that time period.

Please contact Ana Ehinger, [email protected] or Don Hurd, [email protected]. Deadline to share your photos and stories is March 15th.

We looking forward to hearing your stories.

Be careful out there, the roads are icy!

We now have a new sister newspaper.

We now have a new sister newspaper.

Hello Carroll County,
I'm Don Hurd, president of Hoosier Media Group. I'm very happy to announce that our other company, Heartland Media Group, has purchased the Carroll County Comet. The Comet is now a part of our other hyper-local newspapers in Indiana. All our newspapers focus only on LOCAL NEWS. The "secret sauce" for our success is local names and local faces. While other newspapers have lost their focus in serving the communities they serve, our newspapers are highly engaged and a huge part of the communities we serve.
We're excited about becoming a major player in helping Carroll County continue to grow and succeed.
Being president I don't hide in an ivory tower. I'm out and about in the communities my newspapers serve. I even still deliver newspapers each week. I started delivering newspapers when I was 11 years old and I'm still doing it. IT'S FUN.
I'm very anxious to meet with the people of Carroll County to find out exactly what YOU want in your local newspaper. After all, it's YOUR newspaper.
If you want to contact me here's my email address: [email protected]
Looking forward to hearing from you.
We will begin publishing the Comet very soon. There are still some technical issues we need to work out, but soon you'll be receiving YOUR Comet filled with local news.
Thanks for the opportunity to serve Carroll County.
