We just had to share this wonderful announcement for the Washington International Horse Show from 1969.

As this year’s Washington International Horse Show gets underway, take a look back to an advertisement for the 1969 horse show featuring 2016 USHJA Lifetime Achievement honoree Chrystine Tauber on Ksarina. The show was held in those days at the DC Armory, and Tauber was riding for the US Equestrian Team. She had been the winner of the President’s Cup at Washington in 1966 with Trick Track. Check out the details of the ad to get a sense of what events were typical of the 1960s multi-discipline horse shows.

Check out the USHJA Wheeler Museum group on Facebook for more Hunter/Jumper history.

Signing off from the MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill p/b Brown Advisory.

We leave you with this gem of a shot from Cass Ingles (Entice Design) proving that 2nd place finisher Monica Spencer and winner Felix Vogg are way less coordinated off their horses than on!

Good times, good times.

This year's MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill p/b Brown Advisory winner is Felix Vogg from Switzerland with his beautiful mare Catania!

Vogg's trip to Maryland was financed in part by the Maryland International Equestrian Foundation (MIEF) in recognition of the significant cost of traveling across an ocean with a top class horse.

It is entities like MIEF, along with the sponsors putting up prize money for the top finishers, who help to attract international competitors to the several premier international events that we host in Maryland.

It takes a village!

Tim & Nina Gardner's FE Lifestyle finished out yet another CCI5* competition at the MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill p/b Brown Advisory today, with US Eventing team rider Jennie Brannigan in the irons.

Tim & Nina's support for this horse has taken FE Lifestyle to nine 5* competitions since 2021.

And Brannigan did the job with a fractured leg -- amazing!
