The Equiery extends its sympathies to the Frederick County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Program on the loss of their barns. Fortunately no horses or humans were injured during the fire.
Very sad news. This morning our barn and tack room accidentally burned. Thank goodness no horses were lost. No people were injured. Luckily some volunteers were there at the time and were able to save them. It is a total loss. We lost everything including hay, feed, tack, equipment, all of it. We lost all our special adaptive equipment that was handmade by us for specific special needs use. We are in shock and will now take it one day at a time. We are a strong therapeutic riding family in a supportive community. Right now we are just beginning to find our way. A go fund me will be set up. I will update how we are doing on this page as I can. The fire did not damage the feeding barn or the indoor. We will feed and operate out of that space for now. Most of our horses are pasture horses. Our motto is “a helping hand is all we need”. We will be needing lots of helping prayers, hands, and hearts to build back. Our students overcome their challenges and so can we. We will prevail. We are strong and determined.
