Today was Kaylee’s first day of preschool, and for the first time in her 3 years of life, we had to say goodbye. She cried when I left, and my heart shattered, but I know this is the start of something wonderful for her. It’s so hard to let go, but I’m incredibly proud of her bravery. Here’s to new beginnings, even when they come with a few tears.

Today’s the day... Kara’s first day of kindergarten. My heart is so full, but l’ve been a mess all weekend-crying, worrying, and feeling every emotion possible.

Watching her walk into this new chapter is so bittersweet, but I know she’s going to shine.

This week has been a bit of a rollercoaster for my five-year-old and I, with lots of big feelings and some head-butting along the way.

Yesterday, I decided it was time for a special mommy-daughter day to reconnect and recharge. We ventured out for her first nail-painting experience, we got matching permanent bracelets, and indulged in some frozen yogurt together.
⠀
During our day, I asked her what she doesn’t like that I do, and she told me she doesn’t like it when I’m mad at her. I took that moment to reassure her that my being upset never means I love her any less. It’s just a part of teaching her what’s right.

The day ended with Kara saying it was the “best day ever,” followed by a big hug and “I love you, Mommy!” It brought tears to my eyes to see my little girl growing up and reminded me how much we both needed this special time together.

Moments like these are a precious reminder of the importance of love and connection, even through the challenging times.
