Big things are brewing in Newport 👀 — a 36-acre development plan could completely reshape the area north of Bailey Road.

United Properties and Real Estate Equities are teaming up to bring a mix of new life to the east metro: two industrial buildings totaling nearly 294,000 square feet, a 172-unit apartment complex, and — yes — a new Kwik Trip. 🚗⛽️

The land, currently owned by Bailey Nurseries, marks one of the first major steps in a larger 280-acre redevelopment vision that could stretch across Newport, Maplewood, and Woodbury.

Construction might kick off as soon as summer 2026, adding jobs, housing, and tax revenue to this fast-growing corridor.

Woodbury is scoring big — literally. 🏆

A 238,000-square-foot indoor sports complex called "EV Sports Center" (Not Champions Hall) is being proposed along I-94 at 11435 Hudson Road. The project, submitted by ARCO/Murray, would transform a vacant industrial building into a massive year-round space for soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, fitness, and events.

If it moves forward, this would be an expansion of the successful Eden Prairie Champions Hall, owned by Troy and Lisa Pappas. The Woodbury version would also include a café, coffee bar, and lounge, creating a community hub for local athletes and families.

This site sits right next to Amazon’s Woodbury sorting facility and the upcoming indoor pickleball center, also developed by ARCO/Murray.

Moe’s Southwest Grill is officially planning to open in Woodbury, MN, and it could be here before the end of the year! 🌯🎉

The new restaurant will be located at 6671 Valley Creek Road, sharing a building with Dunkin’, and is expected to seat 42 people once construction wraps up. Moe’s brings a customizable menu of burritos, bowls, and tacos, plus their signature unlimited chips and salsa. Their queso — what they call “liquid white gold” — has earned a cult following nationwide.

The franchisee, Satnam Dhillon, is also eyeing Cottage Grove and Inver Grove Heights for future Moe’s locations. With Chipotle already dominating the Twin Cities fast-casual scene, this expansion brings some fresh competition to the east metro.
