Mason bee hotels support pollinators like mason, leafcutter, and carder bees, helping gardens and ecosystems thrive. Some tips to get started:

• Use untreated wood or paper tubes (avoid bamboo—it’s tough to clean!).
• Place in a sunny spot near nectar-rich flowers and mud for nesting.
• Keep tubes short (ideally, the length of the tubes will be about 1-1 ½ inches shorter than the front edge of the outer container to prevent birds from accessing the insects inside) and add a wire guard if needed.
• Clean and replace tubes yearly to keep bees healthy.
