Our annual Fall Barn Quilt Workshop was held this weekend, just as the leaves on the mountain began their autumn glow. 🍂 After returning from New York, my heart was full to gather with friends here at home in Utah—brushes in hand, stories flowing, and colors inspired by the season.

Each quilt painted tells a story—heritage blocks, bold stars, and patterns stitched in paint and memory. These pieces will hang on porches, barns, and walls, bringing warmth to the coming colder days.

This workshop is one of my favorite fall traditions—a reminder that creativity connects us, year after year. 🖤

✨ Today was a day steeped in history and color. ✨

I spent the day painting our Classic Civil War Barn Quilt set, a collection of blocks that carry the patterns and stories of a time when quilts were not just art, but messages of resilience, comfort, and hope.

Each block feels like a piece of living history, stitched once upon a time by hands that believed in legacy and community. Bringing them to life in Prairie Paints is such an honor… watching the bold shapes and earthy tones come together, one brushstroke at a time.

From stars to crosses, triangles to bold squares, these designs remind me that simple shapes, when joined together, tell the most powerful stories.
