From food and vet care to horse hay and cat litter, every dollar helps keep tails wagging and bellies full. But it doesn’t stop there. Our biggest budget line goes to our work-study program, which provides meaningful jobs for at-risk individuals while they help care for the animals that call Dog Heaven home.

Here at Dog Heaven we believe in helping people that are in difficult situations with their dogs to help network them to find a forever home. Here is Luca, a beautiful well trained German Shepherd. Dm me if interested and I will put you in touch with his owner.
"My name is Luca...I'm an (almost) 8 year old, male, neutered German Shepherd. My amazing, sweet owner passed away a couple of years ago and I've been doing ok since, for the most part. My owners roommate has been taking care of me the best he could, but has been battling cancer and other health issues so I haven't been able to get out and walk or socialize as much as I love to do, during that time. Honestly, just having someone there has been great and I really don't need much to be content. I get along with pretty much everyone (as long as I know they're part of the circle and get a little time for proper introductions, or my owner gives the thumbs up). I do protect and guard the house, sorry but not sorry, haha. As far as animals go, I pretty much love them all and can get along with almost all that get along with me. I know, I'm pretty big, but I've learned to carry my weight pretty well and since I didn't have too much yard space at my last place, I'd like some more space to hang out and definitely looking for my person to give me some good quality one on one time, whether watching movies together, playing with my toys, walking or going to dog parks or even taking a ride to the store or somewhere cool. At the end of the day I'm just wanting to be a part of someone's story and to be the best companion I can be for someone who desires the same... "

Our full moon hikes are truly just magical. 🥹🌕

Elsa, one of our resident wolf dogs, warmed up to our guest so quickly she was taking treats by the end of the night. If you know wolf dogs, you know what a big deal that is!! It’s a huge act of trust, and we never take it for granted.

Thank you to who came out and shared the evening with us under that glowing orange sky. The forest, the howls, the connection - it all makes for something you can only experience here.

Next Hike & Howl is Saturday, August 9th at 7pm. We’ll see you (and the moon) then!

Meet Willow and Astrid, the newest (and tiniest) members of the Dog Heaven family. 💛

These two kittens were rescued from an unexpected litter in West Virginia, and we knew the moment we met them that they were meant to come home with us.

Thanks to a quick health check and a lot of love, they made the big trip across the country to Colorado - and they’ve been purring ever since. We’re also coordinating for their mama cat to be spayed, covered through Dog Heaven funds.

Two more lives saved - and just getting started. We can’t wait to share more of these two babies with you!
