“Don’t worry, sir, I’ll handle this,” the young girl said softly, motioning for the cashier to scan George’s items.
George shook his head. “No, really, I can pay.”
But the girl just smiled and refused. “I’m sure. Please, let me.”
Reluctantly, George accepted her kindness. But curiosity tugged at him. She couldn’t have been older than 11, yet here she was paying for a stranger’s groceries.
As they stepped aside, he gently asked, “What’s your name? And why would you do this for someone you don’t even know?”
The girl’s eyes sparkled with innocence. “My name’s Lily. My mom always told me to help others whenever I can. She said God blesses those who are kind… and right now, we really need a miracle from Him.”
George paused, heart stirred. “A miracle?” he repeated, leaning closer, eager to understand.
