We would like to thank everyone for all of the support for our Little Free Library.

Due to family relocation, the Library is currently decommissioned.

The house on Adbeth Avenue is under new ownership; therefore, the Library has been removed. The new owners are not in possession of our books, and their privacy is important.

For other Little Free Libraries in your area, visit their website for a map to search.

We have plans to reopen in a new location in the future. Stay tuned for updates!

Good news!!! Chris worked hard AGAIN to repair, restore and re-install Jorie’s Stories Little Free Library.
Our Junior Librarians have stocked it and it’s ready for browsing.
Bad news: someone refused to smile for the picture but that’s not gonna ruin our Monday 😄

Happy spring!
Well now that the ground has thawed, we’re starting repairs on Jorie’s Stories Little Free Library. Hopefully it’ll be back up soon.

It’s been one year since Jorie passed 😔

The LFL in her memory is still out of commission. We plan to repair and reinstall once the ground thaws.

Still--so VERY sad...that some teenagers chose to have road races at our street intersection....and, destroyed "Jorie's Stories" Book Post. :-( It's down for now....but, when the damage can be fixed & the post re-installed--due to the frozen ground...Jorie's Stories will be back!!

Unfortunately, it happened to us.
Long story, but some recklessness has resulted in Jorie’s Stories being temporarily decommissioned.
Due to the climate conditions in the Chicago area, we may not be able to set it back up again properly in concrete this year.
I’m sad. But I’m also thankful that a neighbor came forward to help us piece together what happened and get in touch with the culprit. We’re hoping it was an unfortunate accident, and so far the driver of the vehicle that struck it will be helping us make it right.
We’ll be back…

We’re still sorting through all of the books from the generous people at Argonne National Laboratory from the book drive led by https://www.facebook.com/momjudi! We can’t thank you all enough for your generosity!
I forgot to grab a photo, I’m still hobbling around on two useless ankles, but I’ll be back there today and will share what we’ve been gifted. Our library will be stocked for quite some time, and please, if you’re local, come check them out!
I also put a personal favorite of mine in, one that is pertinent to current events ( ), Kite Runner. If you’re looking for a new good read, come on by before it walks off with someone else!
It’s a beautiful day to find a book and some shade and enjoy. Health and happiness 💕

Hey everyone!
We’ve been a little quiet lately, I (Trudee) had a bit of an accident and broke one ankle and sprained the other a couple of weeks ago.
But, good news! As I mentioned before, we’ve been the recipient of about 150 books via a book drive at Argonne National Laboratory. We’ll be organizing the donations this weekend with the organizer of the drive, Judith Shepard Yaeger, and will share some pictures 👍
So I’m on the mend, Kathy Manderfield tells me that the library is a popular spot in the neighborhood, and when my daughter, Molly, was there last weekend, she said the books we’d put in a week before had been mostly replaced with different ones. So, I think our little labor of love on the corner of Adbeth and North Creek has taken on a life of its own! I can’t wait to see it again on Saturday, and maybe bring some of the rocks I’ve been painting while I’ve been stuck at home for a while. I also got a new stamp to show which books passed through our library.
If you’re around on Saturday and in the area, swing by and say hi! Our family will be around and we love visitors 💕

Happy Saturday!

We got the decals on today (thank you, Jen Cherep of Jen’s Got Tees!) and made sure our collection had a little something for (almost) everyone… books for little kids, middle schoolers, some teen magazines, and popular novels.

We had a new neighborhood visitor swing by while we were organizing who found something to read and will hopefully be back again!

All of my junior librarians helped label and organize and cheese for a pic.

Here’s what the plaques on the front say, Kathy Manderfield asked that I zoom in and share 🙂
Also, my girls (Molly, Amelia, and Natalie) helped paint the outside, so here’s a closeup of their handiwork as well.

It’s a beautiful day, and we hope everyone is having a good one 💕
