‘Behead’ is the second single off of Dahjyn’s upcoming ‘Peace Medal’ album.

Behead starts appropriately as a greeting, an introduction to a callous life born by cold nylon strings and the industrial slog. At first, Dan’s voice takes center stage inviting an audience to ponder and participate
in the worst systems the world has to offer, before offering a warning, “Don’t listen, don’t let them take
your head.” The bottom drops out, gravity passing through a sinkhole of gemlike arpeggios and
percussive acceleration. The forever distant synth pads serve as a pillow for survival and echoes of
purgatorial wonder in equal measure, positing how at rest the head is and how much of it is already
gone.

Good morning!

We're extremely excited today to be announcing a new single and upcoming record from one of our longtime favourite artists, enigmatic New York producer Sharp Veins. His work has had us captivated since being played by Bjork in DJ mixes in ~2016, right through to his always-unpredictable LPs on Glacial Sound and UNO NYC.

Sharp Veins' new album, Temporary Plates Take An Exit, is a road music diary of blown radiators and sunburned maps; a (too) brightly lit collection of Sharp Veins' most accessible music yet. The first single is called "Play Your Stumbler," and sees Sharp Veins wrapping plaintive shoegaze in a crude, diesel bloom of distortion and Casio keyboards.

Temporary Plates Take An Exit will be dropping in full on September 22. For now, enjoy "Play Your Stumbler," and listen loud -- preferably in the cab of a '99 Ford Ranger. On all streaming services and Bandcamp -> link in bio.

Hello everybody! We're excited to announce that after a long winter we're waking up and releasing the debut single from brand-new duo God's Mom.

God's Mom is a Toronto-based group comprised of Bria Salmena (Orville Peck, Bria, Frigs, Sigil) and Andrew Matthews (WHIMM, Dime Lifters) that explores the combination of Calabrian folk singing and hedonistic dance music. Drawing equally from sleazy euro-trance, EBM, and Bria's Southern Italian heritage, God's Mom EP is a cacophonous celebration of life.

We're incredibly proud to present the first single, "Piccola Lina" to you today. In their own words: "Piccola Lina is a song about sacrifice, love as the sacrifice you can't always choose—the track pulses to a minimalist, taunting rhythm. Swirling, dissonant voices and gaudy leads land somewhere between distant and unsettling. Inspired by the sacrifices made by a woman named Lina."

With vocals in Spanish, House of Women’s first three tracks explore different stages of self discipline, ambition, and betrayal. From the opening track’s trance infused stomp, about a woman who uses self imposed cruelty as a defence against a more hostile world, to Maldita’s reggaeton/flamenco/metal pummeling, demonstrating the consequences of manic ambition - aggressive guitars and incisive lyrics colour the unrelenting feminine experience of constant self ‘improvement’. The EP’s third track Ingenua, employs a more pop structure with traditional latin percussive elements and acoustic guitars. This is meant as a final attempt of survival for the overworked and under-appreciated femme. To give into the superfical, and to pretend that to be a s*x object is fulfilling enough.

"Within this small 5’3” package I call my home, there are at least 20 characters running around vying for power, working to build, and undermining one another at any given moment. In Lash’s debut EP, House of Women, I focus on just a few of them. All inspired by Federico García Lorca’s play “La Casa de Bernarda Alba,” where Bernarda’s inhospitable authoritarian home leads her daughters to seek their own distinctive modes of survival. Each culminating in some varying degree of tragedy. It’s easy to see the same can happen within one body.

So, this is about the self. The feminine range on display.

Andrew, Asaël, and I are so happy to share this with you all. A messy journey towards caustic self acceptance that you can (mostly) absolutely fu***ng dance to.
