Today we’re focusing on resources and community support.

A lot of people in our city need help but do not always know where to start. That could be food assistance, housing support, shelter information, recovery resources, mental health support, youth programs, family services, or other community help.

So this morning we want to ask:

What is one resource in Worcester more people should know about?

Drop it below or send it to us so we can review it and help share useful information with the community.

This is our city. These are our stories.

Goodnight Worcester.

As we close out the day, we just want to say thank you to everyone who is helping us build this next chapter of What’s Up Worcester.

Today was about listening, reconnecting, and letting the community know where we’re headed.

We’re building a community-first nonprofit newsroom for Worcester and Worcester County, and we want this work to reflect the people, neighborhoods, stories, resources, businesses, and voices that make this city what it is.

Before the night ends, tell us this:

What is one story, issue, business, event, resource, or person you think What’s Up Worcester should know about?

Drop it below or send it our way.

Goodnight Worcester.

This is our city. These are our stories.

A message from Jerry Filmore, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of What’s Up Worcester.

We are building a community-first nonprofit newsroom for Worcester and Worcester County.

This new chapter is about consistency, trust, local voices, and clear information residents can actually use.

We want to hear from you. Send us your stories, events, resources, businesses, community leaders, and ideas for coverage.

This is our city. These are our stories.

Community Love: Thank You, Greater Worcester Community Foundation

We want to take a moment to show love and appreciation to the Greater Worcester Community Foundation for the support, guidance, and opportunities they continue to provide across Worcester County.

For What’s Up Worcester, GWCF has been part of our growth through grant support, encouragement, and access to programs that help community organizations become stronger, more informed, and better prepared to serve.

Our Executive Director, Jerry Filmore was part of the first cohort of Nourishing Tomorrow’s Leaders, and that experience taught him so much about nonprofit leadership, board service, responsibility, and what it means to help build something that lasts.

That kind of support matters.

As What's Up Worcester continues building as a community-first nonprofit newsroom, we are grateful for organizations like GWCF that invest in people, leadership, and the future of Worcester County.

For anyone interested, applications are now open for Nourishing Tomorrow’s Leaders, a nine-week leadership course focused on board service and increasing diverse representation on nonprofit boards.

Info Session: June 10, 12 to 1 p.m. on Zoom
Application Deadline: July 10

Worcester, real question.

What is one thing you want local media to do better for our city?

It could be more neighborhood coverage, more youth stories, more events, more resources, more small business features, or clearer information about local decisions.

Drop your thoughts below. We’re listening.
