A home-based bread business that began in 2024 is taking its next big step in Worcester.

Golden Grain Artisanal Bread is celebrating its ribbon cutting and grand opening on Wednesday, September 9, at 11:00 AM at 250 Commercial Street. The locally owned café has grown from a family kitchen into a brick-and-mortar space offering artisanal bread, coffee, pastries, and scratch-made seasonal dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world.

The celebration will include representatives from the City of Worcester’s Economic Development Team, City Council, and City Manager’s Office.

Longtime Worcester harmonica player Chet Williamson will present an all-original performance tracing his 40-plus-year musical career on Sunday, September 13, at the WCUW FrontRoom.

Williamson’s career began in Worcester's Great Brook Valley Housing Projects, taking him from local jam sessions at the Lincoln Neighborhood Center and performances at the Kitty Kat to international stages. Over four decades, he has performed alongside notable musicians including Sleepy LaBeef, Joan Osborne, and Duke Levine.

The upcoming concert will feature an all-original lineup including Jerry Sabatini, Mitch Seidman, Pamela Hines, Bill McGillivray, and Jerry Wilfong.

Standard Green, the plan used by most participants, will drop from 15.32 cents to 14.12 cents per kilowatt-hour. Current participants do not need to take action, and the change will not affect National Grid delivery charges.

🎶 Berklee Homecoming Block Party Comes to Boston
Music fans have a big lineup to look forward to this September as Berklee hosts its inaugural Homecoming Block Party, an outdoor music festival taking place next to Fenway Park.

The September 19 event will feature an impressive lineup of Berklee alumni, including Grammy-winning artist Susan Tedeschi, Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage, Fabiola Méndez, Dogs in a Pile and Dreion, with additional special guests.
The festival will also feature the Hamilton-Garrett Drumline and dancers from Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

There’s a Central Massachusetts connection, too: WICN Public Radio 90.5 FM is a media sponsor of the event.
