Hey all! After a whoooole lot of time away (like 6 years away), we decided to relaunch the Punkcake Alterno Art Zine. I'm so incredibly proud of this volume-- and even more excited for all of the Punkcake Zines and projects to come.

Y'all, Darcy Schwartz loved Punkcake.
The whole DIY, all ages, wild and weirdness of it just appealed to her so much. She felt so strongly that the Punkcake ethos aligned with her vision of how art should be created, taught, shared, and enjoyed that as she was looking for new spaces to move her studio, she always wanted it to be big enough to hold all of us and the all the creative projects we got up to.
Yeah.
She loved us so much, she wanted to talk real estate!
As you may have heard, Darcy recently passed away.

On February 4th there will be a gathering in the church hall after her funeral mass at Immaculate Conception. I'd like to help fill that space with pieces honoring her and her passion for art.

The pieces don't have to be big, they don't have to be perfect, they just need to be created by anyone with a passion for creating art.
She loved that. She would love that.
I'm sure she'll be there in spirit reveling in all of it.

The Worcester art scene lost one of its biggest champions yesterday, and Punkcake lost an amazing supporter and friend.

Darcy Schwartz LOVED artists, and did all she could to hire, promote, encourage, and support them.
