DCR Recreation Advisory: Wachusett Mountain


On Wednesday, May 28, the Department of Conservation and Recreation will close Wachusett Mountain State Reservation summit road in the town of Princeton to safely accommodate the removal of existing ski lift towers via helicopter and the delivery of rigging equipment via trucks. The road will be closed to vehicles, bikes and pedestrians from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hikers may be redirected from trails and should follow posted signage. This work is part of a construction project DCRโ€™s lessee, Wachusett Mountain Associates, is undertaking to remove the existing Polar Express four-passenger chairlift at the ski area and replace it with a high speed six-passenger chairlift.
