So usually, I will put out a thank you post the next day after a show, but seeing as this was a weekend fest, I decided to wait for Monday. However, I was just a bit too tired yesterday, and only managed a couple posts. Plus, there were a lot of people sharing pictures and videos from the weekend, so I happily consumed their content more than posted my own, but I do have videos coming.
Ok, so, with all that noted, I wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who played and came out to the shows, I appreciate you all!
Friday: every band was so good, but I have to admit, The Feinbergs were really impressive, especially when they did some ska stuff!
As always, The Shape Shifters Ska Band / Shape Shifters rocked the house, it still amazes me how well Mason Vincent shreds the guitar, and if you weren't told, you'd never know he just celebrated his 80th not too long ago! Incredible. It's truly an honor to have worked with this supergroup, three times!
One again Double Star came in with a high energy, fun set, and I look forward to when they come back to Worcester! Returning to The Raven, from CT, is Sonorous Rising! The last time they played in Wormtown, was the "Is This Ska" show with Sgt S**g, Cheap City, and Dirty Walter and The Smelltones, in 2019, so it was great to see them again!
We also had another returning band, but, it was their first time at The Raven, in July I had the pleasure to work with Skaleton Crew, and it was great to have them come back to Worcester for this event, bringing their spooky ska! Lastly, big ups to DJ King Monkey Man / Java Saint for spinning some great selections!
Saturday: Basics Plus killed it, and bringing up Jimmy West Jr. was a nice surprise! Holy s**t Green Street Fiends were great! So many people came out for POINT BLANK returning to The Raven, and that was awesome to see!
Another returning band, The Lousekateers, had people jumping and moving, and I look forward to when these two NY based bands come back out to Worcester!
Just as I posted about yesterday, COB, came in (after playing another show prior in the day) and had a perfect setlist for this show, just so good! And ending the night, Futon Lasagna brought yet another perfect headline act, if you haven't seen them yet, I highly recommend you do!
Sunday: Wow, that jazz / funk lineup was the perfect way to end the Weekend, the Worcester Duo Fair Dinkum were really good, and I look forward to seeing them play again soon! Clandestine from NH, is a great band, if you can book or go see them, it will be so worth it! Additionally, when they brought up Ryan Devlin, that was fantastic! Renter, a Worcester Trio, is a great act, and I really hope to see them get more time in front of an audience! And speaking of Ryan Devlin, his Trio is so incredibly good! I was so honored to have him headline Sunday's show and close out the 12 year anniversary weekend!
