During His Wife’s Cremation, a Husband Sees Her Belly Move…
Rowan Hart thought he’d found his forever in Nyla. They had been married just two years, but their bond ran deep, strong enough, he believed, to withstand anything. He was an architect from an old-money family; she was a nurse from a modest background. Their love had crossed every boundary except one: his mother’s approval.
From the very beginning, Beatrice Hart made her disdain clear.
“She doesn’t belong in this family,” she would say, her tone sharp as glass. “And neither will that child.”
Rowan tried to defend Nyla, but his mother’s words had a way of planting doubt, like slow poison. Still, when Nyla became pregnant, Rowan swore to protect her and their baby no matter what.
But Beatrice’s hostility only deepened. She began visiting under the guise of “helping out,” her smiles thin, her words sweet but cutting. One morning, she arrived with a cup of herbal tea.
“It’s for the baby,” she said with practiced warmth. “An old family remedy. Helps with strength and growth.”
Nyla hesitated, then reluctantly drank it trying, as always, to keep the peace. Within an hour, she collapsed.
Rowan rushed her to the hospital, panic clawing at his chest. Doctors fought for hours to save her and the unborn child. By nightfall, both were declared dead.
Rowan’s world shattered.
When the doctor gently asked about funeral arrangements, Rowan’s voice cracked.
“She was afraid of fire,” he whispered. “She always wanted to be buried. But… my mother insists on cremation.”
Blinded by grief, he gave in. The next day, Beatrice handled everything, keeping Nyla’s family in the dark, claiming “it was better this way.”
At the crematorium, Rowan stood motionless as the priest began the final prayers. The soft hum of the furnace filled the air. He stared at Nyla’s still form, his heart heavy with guilt and disbelief.
Then something unimaginable happened.
The silk shroud covering Nyla’s body trembled. Her belly shifted ever so slightly.
Rowan froze. His breath caught. Had he really seen it move? Read more in Comment or Most relevant -> All comments 👇
