"This homeless man just walked into Roosters, sat down and ordered a Coke. The waitress asked if he wanted anything to eat, and he said 'sorry I have money for only a coke and a dollar tip for you.' Before the waitress could jump in and offer him food on her, a little boy from a nearby table came and sat down. He talked to the old guy, asked him how he was. Then grabbed the menu and said 'I have money. So pick something to eat and I will buy it for you.' The man refused cause he didn't want to seem helpless. That's when the server jumped in and also said 'sir I will buy you anything you want as well.' They both pleaded to the man for 5 minutes before he agreed to get a small order of wings. The point? America that we know and love isn't dead. There is still positiveness and kindness in this world."

I just read a post where a neighbor was complaining about a yard on her street that was normally taken care of, but had recently been let go. There was a barrage of people demanding it be turned in to be cited by the city.
Can I ask my friends to consider something?...if you see this in your neighborhood, go knock on the door and see what's going on.
Last year my Mother in laws yard, which is normally immaculately manicured went weeks without being touched. She was inside the home caring for her husband who was dying from Cancer. I remember watching as a few young men from her Church showed up with trailers, riding mowers and went to work getting it taken care of. It took a village to help her last year and I know she may not have remembered everyone that helped, I know she appreciated having every single second she could with Chris.
Maybe your neighbor has something much bigger to take care of than uncut grass...and maybe they need some help. Let's don't lose all ability to be neighborly.

"While I was walking out of North Adams Massachusetts, I decided to swing into the Subway to get one last meal before getting back to the trail. I was in line ordering my meal after setting my pack down by a table. Another patron saw my pack and asked if I was hiking the trail. I said I was. He asked how it was going and in which direction I was going. I told him cold and wet and that I was heading south. Then he went back to his meal with the gentleman his was sitting with. Just before I was about to pay for my meal, he came up to the cashier and said that he would be paying for my meal. And despite my repeated attempts to thank him but defer the gesture, he won out and I allowed him to pay. As he was about to walk away we shook hands and exchanged names and I thanked him and he said "Semper Fi". This of course sparked a conversation about where we served and when. He then asked me if I had ever heard of . I informed him that I had hiked with Warrior Hike in 2013 on the AT and he said that he was the Quartermaster at the local VFW Post. He hosted me and the other Warrior Hikers that year!! We had met before and it all immediately came back to me!! Just simply amazing. I could go on out about our interaction but there is more to this story.
After thanking him and saying goodbye I went over to my food and began to eat the meal, his gift to a supposed complete stranger. While sitting there eating, on older woman walked in. She looked cold and appeared as though maybe she could use a little magic herself. She was alone but ordering for two. I thought how nice it would be for her to receive a gift much like I had. I walked up behind her and told her the story of what had just happened to me and then went on to say that I would like to do the same for her. She nearly collapsed and proclaimed "There IS a God!! Man, I really needed this one today!! I can't even tell you. Thank you. Thank you!!" She said. I could tell she wanted to hug me but I just put my arm around her and said, "I'm glad I was able to help you today ma'am."
I can only imagine how excited she will be to give the other meal to her friend or child or whoever it was that it was for. She might have been homeless or just down on her luck that day, I don't know. It doesn't even matter, she was happy in that moment. Small acts of kindness add up. Restores your soul sometimes. Restores your faith in others. Restores your faith in this world.
After the woman left I went back to my meal and one of the Subway workers came out and told me that I made both of their days as well. She thanked me and I thought the very least I could do was to ask them if they wanted to help me inspire others with this story. So I got them together for this picture
I don't have a picture of either of the people that were involved in this story but I've got to share it anyways. Not because I want praise but because I want you all to go out and do the same. Even if I only get a handful of you to do it, that's a handful of people that might have their days made by YOU!! Pay it forward people. It can matter. It can matter more than you know.
Share it. Share your time. Share your food. Share your money. Share your love. Share your stuff. Be the inspiration and change you want to see in this world. It starts with you and me."

โ€œThis is Keanu Reeves riding the subway. He was abandoned by his father at just 3-years-old and grew up with 3 different stepfathers. He is dyslexic and his dream of becoming a hockey player was shattered by a serious accident. His daughter died at birth. His wife died in a car accident, and his best friend, River Phoenix, died of an overdose. He also stayed by his sisterโ€™s side as she battled leukemia.
No bodyguards, no luxury houses. Keanu lives in an ordinary apartment and likes wandering around town and often seen riding a subway in NYC. When he was filming the movie โ€œThe Lake House,โ€ he overheard the conversation of two costume assistants, one crying as he would lose his house if he did not pay $20,000 - On the same day, Keanu deposited the necessary amount in his bank account. In his career, he has donated large sums to hospitals including $75 million of his earnings from โ€œThe Matrixโ€ to charities. In 1997 some paparazzi found him walking one morning in the company of a homeless man in Los Angeles, listening to him and sharing his life for a few hours.
In life, sometimes the ones most broken from inside are the ones most willing to help others. This man could buy everything, and instead every day he wakes up and chooses one thing that cannot be bought.โ€ โค

A mother made a run to Walmart with her young son. While in the store, she turned around and he was gone. She looked all over for him, and was on the verge of becoming frantic when she walked to the front of the store and spotted him.
She was just getting ready to lay some scolding on him when she realized he was doing something very strange. He was kneeling at one of the benches just inside the store and he was praying. She could not understand why he was doing this. Then she looked above him at the huge poster he was facing. It had photos and descriptions of missing children, and it read: โ€œEvery second counts.โ€
So she took a photo of her son doing this and posted it on Facebook. It went viral in no time. And as it did, one Facebook commenter summed it up pretty well, writing: โ€œWhether or not you believe in God really doesnโ€™t matter. This was a child in Walmart who was thinking about others and doing the only thing he could to help. The world would be a better place if everyone followed his example.โ€

We have been asking how we can better serve the people around us. Yesterday, while Brandon was taking out the trash, he heard an elderly lady calling out to him. She was sitting on her front step, and had busted her chin and eyelid. We didn't know this at the time, but she had fallen in her bathroom and crawled to her front door to find help. Her neighbor, who usually helps her, was gone at the time. Brandon rushed over to help and knew she was in pain. Brandon picked her up and brought her inside to her chair, and he stayed with her to make sure she was okay. Once the neighbor arrived, Brandon came back home and told me what had happened. It broke my heart, but I was so glad he was in the right place at the right time. The next day, Brandon went to the store and came back with flowers for Dorothy (and me, too!). We walked over to give her the flowers and the second we walked into the room she said, (with a big smile on her face) 'There you are! Come give me some sugar!' It was adorable! She said Brandon was her knight and shining armor and that he was very good at 'picking up old women!' So, now we have a new friend who is 92 and a total sweetheart. I am so glad Brandon waited to take out the trash on his own time, and not when I asked him to! Hehe.

"I've seen this guy at Starbucks in Marin City several times. Every time Iโ€™d see him I'd tell myself that I would take him to lunch but always found an excuse not to. Today was different. It might have been selfish but I was lonely. I didn't want to spend the whole day alone. I walked up to him, put my hand on his shoulder and said 'do you want to have lunch with me?'
Tarec Atkinson was born and raised in Jamaica. When he was a kid, he dreamt of being a famous football (soccer) player. He was recruited to play in school but never got the opportunity because of some trouble he got in as a teenager. He moved to the states 8 years ago and has spent the last 12 months living in a tent by the side of the freeway. Tarec goes days without eating, sometimes living off of the berries he picks, he spends 90% of his time alone and has no friends and no family in the states. After hearing it had been a month since he bathed, I brought him back to my apartment so he could enjoy a hot shower. Because of all these hardships, trying to get a job is impossible. How can you fill out an application when you haven't eaten in days? I told Tarec that I would drive around with him next week and help him fill out applications and even speak on his behalf to help him land a job so he can get back on his feet. We agreed to meet that Friday at 9:30 AM at Starbucks.
If we were going to make this happen, I knew we had to get Tarec some new clothes. We stopped at Ross so he could pick out a shirt and some slacks. I was blown away at the immediate change in his demeanor. His smile was radiant, he stood up straighter, and even walked with a swagger. I couldnโ€™t convince him to tuck in his shirt. I guess you win some and you lose some haha. Next step was to hit the streets. We spent the next two days going door to door to see who was hiring. We went to Walgreens, CVS, Safeway, Home Depot, Molly Stones, and Starbucks just to name a few. I would walk in with him so he knew he wasnโ€™t alone. It can be overwhelming to walk into a business and ask for a job. I was very proud of him. We had a few positive responses but the majority of businessโ€™s told us that applications were submitted online. Easy enough right? Wrong.
Tarec doesnโ€™t have a computer. So we went to the local library and began filling out applications. And let me tell you something. We take our computer literacy for granted. Watching him struggle to fill out an application put so much into perspective for me. Some people judge our homeless. Weโ€™ve all heard someone say 'why donโ€™t they just get a job?' or 'theyโ€™re lazy' I saw firsthand how the โ€œsystemโ€ is set up to fail people like Tarec. There is no way he would have been able to do any of this without my help. Just like there are many things in my life I have needed someone to help me overcome an obstacle. We all need a little help.
After week of phone interviews Tarec landed an in person interview at Safeway. I remember driving to Safeway being nervous. I looked over to him and asked how he was feeling. He looked back at me and said โ€œI got thisโ€. I believed him. I dropped him off, wished him luck and waited. 20 minutes later, I see him walk out of Safeway with a big smile and a thumbs up. I let out a Rick Flair sounding โ€œWOO!โ€. We had accomplished a lot together in two weeks. It was an incredible moment. Obviously we had to celebrate with a little ice cream! ๐Ÿ™‚
Like we all are, Tarec is searching for a purpose in life. He yearns for happiness. He craves for a woman to love and to feel the love from a woman. He wants to create a better life for himself so he could one day have a family and stability. He is just like you and me. My hope in sharing this story is that it will inspire others to spread LOVE. We all need help in one way or another. Sometimes all someone needs is a friend. Thank you for taking the time to read my story."

"Eating lunch at Zaxbys and overhear some young man laughing about an older gentleman in the bathroom that couldn't get off the toilet so I proceed to walk in and can hear this man crying on the toilet. I ask him if he's ok; he said that his legs were too weak to stand up and he left his cane by the door, I asked him to unlock the door and helped the man up and got his pants up for him, the man had a Vietnam veteran hat on and gave me a hug and told me that he's 69 years old and that was the most embarrassing moment in his life with tears in his eyes...... I shook his hand and thanked him for all he's done and walked him out to the lobby and made that teenager apologize to the man... moral of the story getting old is inevitable, but being a complete jerk to a stranger is not."

This man worked a 13 hour day in 90 degree weather and walked through the door and asked "I'm home, what can I do to help you?" Yet, these are words I hear from him often.

He is not a "unicorn", men like these exist. The kind that wash the dishes after you cook, who do the yard work because he knows you hate it, who work 60+ hour work weeks and still comes home and plays with his kids and gives his wife a kiss and asks what can I do to help. Who gets up some nights to change the babies diaper while I get ready for a night feeding, who gives the kids baths and puts them down for bed, who spends his weekends with his family, who cracks a cold one once the kids are down and plays farkle and rummy with his wife.

Leader of the home, equal partner with his wife, provider, protector and hands on father. I'm so glad I married this man and that he also acknowledges my hard work at home with two kids, nursing, cooking and cleaning. We take care of each other its 50/50 and we are raising our boys to be men, just like their father.

I see so many women cry and complain that their partner doesn't help with the kids, bills, housework, give them any attention etc and my heart breaks when I hear 'oh thats men' or 'I just deal with it and suffer'. Ladies that isn't a man, make him do better or find better! If you got a good one that treats you like a Queen then treat him like the King he is. ๐Ÿ’•

Marriage is a partnership not a dictatorship. My husband and I both take care of each other and are very happy.

Many blessings and happiness to all you Kings and Queens. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

An 83-year-old guy in St. Petersburg, Florida named John Joyce makes money mowing lawns. And the 20-year-old truck he had died recently, so he was walking to all of their houses, and pushing his lawnmower along with him.
Sometimes he'd have to walk several miles just to get to one house. And when one of his customers found out about it a few weeks ago, they decided to help.
Robert and Nikki Norton got married earlier this month, but found out about his truck right before the wedding. And their first idea was to use some of their wedding money to get him a new ride. But it turned out they didn't have to.
Nikki posted his story online, and started a GoFundMe page for him. And in less than a month, more than 300 people donated 13 GRAND to help him out.
Then a used car dealership agreed to sell them a 2004 Nissan V8 truck at cost. And they surprised John with it on Monday. They also had enough money left over to pay for the insurance AND buy him a new lawnmower.
One of John's relatives told the local news it might be the nicest thing anyone's ever done for him. And when they interviewed him right after he got the keys, he said he felt like a millionaire.

I accidentally text a message about Mark and Lindsey having a baby to a number I had in my phone for someone else which now belongs to Mr. Dennis Williams and he and his brother came by to visit us and bought the baby a gift! What a blessing these two guys were to our family. They were so sweet and kind to do this! You 2 are great guys and thank you for giving to someone you didn't know! Many blessing I pray for you. I think his brother was Derrius Williams. Cason Knox, Lindsey, & Mark Lashley thanks you. If we all only had this kind of heart.
