Texas Country Music Hall of Famer Clay Cooper returned to his roots last weekend for a surprise performance at the Wylie Opry, the same stage where he began singing at just 13 years old.
He brought his sons, C**t and Caden, to perform on the same stage where it all started, with a warm welcome from Opry owner and longtime friend LeGrant Gable.

🟣 The Purple Heart is more than just a medal—it is a sacred symbol of courage, sacrifice, and an unshakable love of country. It represents the price of freedom and the strength of those who have borne the battle.

The final 2025 Summer Nights Concert at JK Sachse Park wrapped up with local favorite Lola Kinsey and Fort Worth’s The Neon Prophets lighting up the stage. 🎤💫 Boots, blankets, yard games, and food trucks made it a night to remember—and The Sachse News was there! Big shoutout to Sachse Parks and Rec for another well-organized, family-friendly event. 👏

📣 Farewell, Taco Delite 🌮❤️
After nearly four decades serving up tacos, super salads, and lifelong memories, Wylie’s beloved Taco Delite has closed its doors for the last time. Owners Melisa and Terry Greaves say the outpouring of love from the community during their final week was overwhelming — with lines out the door and stories that brought them to tears. 💬
“We just really feel like we’ve been given a chance to actually get out there and do some living,” Melisa said.

Sachse city officials plan to keep the property tax rate steady for the next fiscal year, according to a budget workshop held July 28. 📊 City Manager Gina Nash outlined projected revenues, expenses, and ongoing infrastructure needs totaling $208 million. 🏗️
Public input will be welcomed as the city moves through budget discussions and upcoming hearings. 🗣️
