Very proud of this group of young men and how they represented our school and town today and this season. Although their post-season run came to an end today they can hold their heads high because they made some big strides this season and played as a TEAM every time they hit the court. When the calls went against them they kept their composure and kept fighting until the final buzzer, no show-boating when they were up big in some games and no sulking when they were down. Thanks for a great season Savages, you have made Wynnewood proud!

MORE CONSTRUCTION SLOWDOWNS!

I-35 narrows to one lane near Wayne in McClain County beginning Monday
Northbound I-35 will be narrowed to one lane from just south of SH-59 (mm 86) near Wayne to about three miles north of SH-59 beginning Monday for surface work as part of a pavement reconstruction project. Additionally, southbound I-35 will be narrowed to one lane at SH-59 (mm 86) Monday, with a longer southbound lane closure expected later in the project.

Drivers can expect significant delays, especially during peak travel times, and should plan extra time or use an alternate route to avoid the corridor.

The $16.6 million contract for this project was awarded to Sherwood Construction Co, Inc. of Tulsa, in February. All work on southbound I-35 is expected to be completed in the summer and northbound is expected to be completed by fall 2020.

Just a few shots from the game tonight. We didn't get the score we wanted but some of our younger boys got some playing time in a Regional contest and they played as hard as the starting 5 did! It was a TEAM effort, with powerlifters in the stands and our Cheerleaders leading the chants! Come out tomorrow and support our boys as they take on the Owls of Ninnekah. #WinasONE

Some invaluable advice about the potential dangers of certain apps and social media. Give it a read!

After working a recent case with the assistance of Pauls Valley PD and OSBI. I wanted to reach out to the public and provide some information that I believe could be useful to you.

I speak to school students every year about being careful who they speak with on social media. There is many different reasons behind this. But they all come down to safety. Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and meet me along with many more apps that can be very dangerous. You cannot always guarantee who is looking at your page or even who you are talking too. Like the tv show Catfish, this is real and does happen! People lie about who they are even what they look like. This can go both ways from possible victims to the predators. Parents please look into ways to protect yourself and your children. Even in small town Paoli predators can/will/HAVE come to town. WE ALL WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO BE SAFE!

My wife swears by a Netflix show called Jane Doe. It is in regards to human trafficking. Please watch it and watch it with your children.

I will be scheduling a time in the near future where I can speak with all interested parents and students about how to try to protect yourself and your families.

We will possibly be releasing more information on the case at a later time.

It's still Winter time and there's a lot of sneezing and coughing going on so get your flu shot if you haven't already! Thanks The Chickasaw Nation Department of Health!

As the 2019-2020 flu season continues, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that flu activity in the U.S. is elevated and increasing. The CDC recommends everyone 6 months of age and older, and those who are high risk, get a flu vaccine every season.

Eligible patients of the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center as well as the Ardmore, Tishomingo and Purcell clinics can receive a flu shot through their primary care provider. If you do not have a primary care provider, you can request one by logging on to Chickasaw.net/PrimaryCare and completing the new patient application.

According to the CDC, people at high risk for flu complications include young children, adults 65 years and older, pregnant women and people with certain medical conditions such as diabetes or heart disease. Those who are high risk should consult with a physician early in their illness.

Flu shots are available through May at any Chickasaw Nation location and it is never too late to get immunized. For more information on the flu, visit CDC.gov/Flu.

It might be cold outside but its time to get those bats heated up! Remember, there is ALWAYS somebody out there with more talent than you! But YOU control how hard you work, and every winner takes advantage of every opportunity they have to get better!
Don't cheat yourself or give your opponent an advantage because you miss a practice. Give 100% every day and every play, every at bat. If you're on the bench, stay in the game by learning from your teammates and opponents!

"Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all of the time. Winning is a habit."

MISSING CHILDREN LOCATED AND ARE SAFE!!!!!
Official release on behalf of my clients, Joy and Dan Newton regarding the recovery of their grandchildren:

On Tuesday, February 18th, through the assistance of the United States Marshall’s, brother and sister Jaxson and Josephine Townsend were recovered in Daytona Beach, Florida, in the custody of their non-custodial father. Their father, Gary Daniel Townsend was taken into custody on an outstanding Logan County warrant in the amount of $25,000.00. The children were returned to their custodial grandparents, Joy and Dan Newton, on Tuesday the 18th in Florida. A Judge in Logan County had previously granted Joy and Dan Newton emergency custody on January 13th after a finding was made that the children were in irreparable harm with their father. The children are safe and well.

I just want to say the Wynnewood Blvd. looks great! Marques & Steph Thomas thank you so much for taking the time on cutting and painting every decoration to make it look so beautiful. Is sonic remodeling?
I've had the pleasure of visiting your quaint city this past week. It has been an enjoyable experience. Friendly folks, walkable streets, and a great stadium in which to get my morning exercise each day have made my stay quite pleasurable. This morning (Saturday) I was in a state of shock when I arrived at the stadium to do my daily routine. Obviously there was a big game last night as evidenced by the well manicured field neatly painted with yard lines and a giant crimson W at mid-field. Congrats to the Savages on the homecoming win by the way. The other evidence I encountered was the shocking part. The home side bleachers were literally strewn end to end with litter. Not a single row of the stadium was without concession stand trash left behind by inconsiderate fans. I wanted to scream at somebody, "How could you do this? This is your stadium! It belongs to you and your children! How can you be so disrespectful? Shame on you!" But, of course, I was alone with no one to hear. I took photos but there doesn't seem to be a way to post them here. This probably isn't the proper page for my rant but its the only relevant one I could locate. Perhaps some of your Gazette readers/followers can remind the litterbugs to do better in the future. This is a great little town. I hope to be invited back some day.
***PLEASE SHARE*** There will be a benefit bake sale Friday from 11am-2pm in front of Gonzales’ Mexican Restaurant and again from 3:30pm-6pm at Delbert’s Grocery store for Matthew RaeDale “Junior” Towler who passed away unexpectedly last week. All proceeds will go to the family to help cover funeral and medical expenses. If you would like to donate any baked goods you may contact me Thursday afternoon/early evening at 405-207-8510 for pickup or you may drop off at 10am Friday morning in front of Gonzales. Any and contributions are greatly appreciated. Junior was 4 years old and passed away August 31st after two days on life support at Children’s in OKC. Junior became unresponsive shortly after having a tonsillectomy. Junior was such a sweet boy and so full of life. He and his father lived next to me for the past two years and this is so tragic and heartbreaking to see his family go through. Any parents worst nightmare! Please help us show this family support and ease the financial burden during their time of suffering. 4H will also be having a hamburger benefit at the show barn on Saturday from 10-2.
