Do we need to remove screens from kindergarten through 2nd grade?

No phones, no laptops, no desktops, no tablets, no smartboards, no calculators while only using pencils, crayons, paper, books and tactile manipulatives?

Research for the last 30 years points to better learning, retention, cognitive development, and even mental health for students who write and calculate by hand and who read printed books, not screens!

Any K-2 classroom with windows should be able to function when the power goes out.

Other than adaptive tech for special education, the only necessary electrons firing in these classrooms should be between people's ears.

In his second term as President, Donald Trump has shepherded forward many policies that are epically beneficial for the nation and its people, but how you get somewhere is often as important (if not more important) than if you get there at all, and the ends don't always justify the means.

The pendulum always swings back the other way eventually, so pragmatism in setting precedent should be a prime consideration when proposing policy, especially policies related to:

- Governmental ownership in private companies (Intel)

- Threats to remove federal operating licenses (ABC and NBC's FCC licenses)

- Military deployment to cities (LA, DC, and beyond)

- Executive orders & regulations/rules instead of laws passed by congress (Voter ID & paper ballots)

Why Is Holly's husband Troy in federal prison and what are we going to do about it?

Troy Lake, born in Newcastle and raised in Rawlins, who lived for years in Dubois, is the owner of Elite Diesel, and was convicted of conspiring to violate the federal Clean Air Act for disabling EPA-mandated emissions systems on diesel trucks.

These systems are notorious for causing engine failures, slashing fuel efficiency, and burdening truckers as well as small businesses with costly repairs.

Troy’s modifications weren’t about breaking the law, they were about keeping essential services and livelihoods operational while actually reducing emissions, not converting the emissions into something that isn’t tested for (such as urea instead of nitrogen oxide) successfully increasing the fuel efficiency, operational capability and dependability of the vehicles he worked on to include many municipally and government owned vehicles.

His work directly supported:

Fire Trucks: Troy tuned fire truck engines to ensure they could respond to emergencies, saving lives and property.

School Buses: He kept school buses operational, preventing kids from being stranded in Wyoming’s brutal winter snowstorms.

Road Graders: His expertise ensured government road graders could maintain safe, accessible roads for communities.

Farm, Ranch, and Long-Haul Truckers: Troy’s modifications kept agricultural and long-haul trucks running, supporting farmers, ranchers, and truckers who feed and supply America.

Despite these contributions, Troy was sentenced to 12 months and one day in federal prison, fined $52,500, and branded a felon for life. He’s currently held at FCI Florence, a federal prison facility, for a non-violent regulatory offense, a punishment that far outweighs his actions.
